Now , we must remember the group a nations never had good relationship with America .
Though for the farce of ummah solidarity, the group b nations aka minions of amrika refrained from recognising Israel , because none of these took active part in any of the wars against Israel.
The point is, both groups were ruled by dictators but , group a nations were ruled by revolutionaries, group b by those who royal houses , who were installed by Britain or USA.
So nations of group b always remained wary of nations of group a .
India at that time was freshly independent, plus ideological dogmas took the better of us and we didn't see any merit in pursuing relation ship with Israel.
They were weak, plus USA controlled oil resources of group b nations, so India has always imported oil from group a nations .
Eg, Bombay high was built to process the Basra crude .
Soviets were partners of both, they were very anti Israel even though many commies were and are jew still very anti Israel.
Indians saw no benefit in solely recognize Israel , so we recognize Palestine too.
