Which entity manufactures INSAS' magazine?
Ordnance Factory Dum Dum makes 20 and 30 round clear polymer magazines and 5.56x45 ammunition for INSAS.
I know this has been answered already, however only partially. OFBs have many suppliers for their firearms furniture. Magazines for the INSAS are supplied by some OFB Factories like the one in Dum Dum, private entities like Nilkamal, Jai Durga Engineering Works, etc.

Is there any defense company's CEO on DFI? Or any employee working in any arms and ammunition manufacturing company in defense sector?

Does anyone know that there is an ammunition design which can switch the ammunition between high explosive and armour piercing mode by just adjusting a selector on the firearm?

You may say that it doesn't exist. But it will exist in the future. I have designed it. But it will take 2 years to be in magazines of assault rifles of Indian army soldiers.

interesting concept but seems science fiction level to me without explanation

besides if you can think this much, why don't you try to conceptualize about charging handles? it's a big part of firearm design often underlooked

say, try to design a non-reciprocating charging handle that can also double as forward assist and is sealed design, in least complex way possible for you

Assuming the rifle/mag will have to carry both types of ammo in this case, how do you ensure they're accommodated without an impact on the overall weight?

Simple some mags will have ap ammo , some will have HE ammo.
The soldier can shoot at target as needed.
As for the weight part , I don't know.

No, I mean only one cartridge can be used as both armour piercing ammo and the same as high explosive ammo.

What do mean by 'charging handles'?

Hmm. Caliber? Seems weird in INSAS thread, as no useful payload can be fit into 5.56.

And IG you have something like SAPHE but programmable for airburst?

But do you know that INSAS rifle will be replaced with AK-203. While it is unsure, but a 7.62 mm assault rifle will be installed in place of INSAS. I am talking of future.

There is some implementation of APIT(Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracer) or APIE (Armor Piercing Explosive Incendiary) rounds made, but most of them are way too costly for any real life engagement senario and are mainly of High caliber uses, a single round can make you poor by multi thousands in case of real life engagement. Thus, they go mainly for shooting games and show off prepose by rich shooters.

I guess you got the concept from, 'Dredd' .... That thing, I guess, is virtually impossible to jam up in a single weapon platform regarding the complexity and yet non existent technological know how.

even 7.62 s too small for useful payload

thats why rarely any filling comes till 50cal, and even then for specialist uses only.

Proper HE rounds start from 20mm and above. Below that, 12.5/14.5 HE are used for anti air, but not enough explosive for attacking ground targets with shrapnel.

Let I make you understand about the concept. While I will not share the full design but the working principle.

In armour piercing mode the lever will be down. Internally, it will allow the firing pin to strike at the bullet's bottom beyond the cartridge case. It will detonate both the main powder charge and the explosive inside the bullet. It will firearms the bullet which will pierce through armour.

In high explosive mode, the lever should be positioned up, stopping the firing pin from striking beyond primer of the cartridge case. It will only detonate main powder charge and not the explosive inside the bullet. After firing, the bullet will travel containing the explosive in it and will detonate on impact using an impact fuse. It will now act high explosive round. But it might be limited to anti aircraft ammunition.

I am designing it to fit in the 7.62 mm ammunition currently.

Wouldn't that create extreme pressure in the barrel and damage the barrel? If you design\make the barrel to handle the extra pressure then it will increase overall weight of the gun.
