Railway fencing comes at a cost of 60 per 2.5 meters lets say gov gets it at 20 Rs
Labor cost Rs 10 per 2.5 meters.
Weight of fencing 48 kg so
48 x 20 = 960 Rs for 2.5

total fence cost.
(100000 x 1000) / 2.5 =40,000,000 x 2 = 80,000,000 fence

approx 1 billion should be the cost.

That kind of fencing won’t keep anyone out. You need hardcore fencing or elevated tracks. That’s why I have been advocating elevated tracks since day one. Yeah it costs so much more but it solved more problems and allow easier operations and higher speeds without incurring additional costs. Costs get factored in and get spread over the years and allows future upgrades without financially impacting others.

Right.
Money should be the least consideration when you are building infra for next 100 years. These are going to define us for decades to come.

Cheap loans are available, and we have to build, build and build even more. The kind of population density we have and rising middle class will take over those infrastructures in no time.....

Any modern railway system whether Metro, bullet train or modernising our regular rail will come at 200 to 300 per km as of now and we have to do it. When we are building thousands of km metro as of now, upgrading some 10~12 km of high use rail lines wont be much for todays India. Returns should be looked from 100 years perspective.

Chuddhav Thackrey has really fked up our high speed plans by half a decade at least. By this year or next we would have firmed our plans about what to do, HSR or upgrading regular rail to the level of HSR or anything else if Ahmedabad Mumbai bullet train would have followed timeline.
