That is a great looking plane. I heard that in the cold war NATO used to track those planes using submarine tracking sonar buoys, those double prop engines were so loud!

These planes are for vast Indian Ocean. Only this type of plane can cover patrolling over the Indian Ocean.

Indian Navy has several types of maritime recon planes. Other planes are used for Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal.
