I had suggested Su30 because of their range and payload, but as long as Pakis get fucked I have nothing against it.

We should also place our Fighter jets with anti ship missiles in Andaman Islands. At least two squadrons with Hardened hangers and a dense air defense.

Imagine just 50 mil $ worth Bhramhos missile taking out 1 billion $ worth Paki navy.
It will take them forever to replenish their fleet.
many people believe our first offence will be air but I suggest Naval action as the very first thing because this will force Pakis to shift warplane down south to defend Karachi.
Mig 29k resting on Vicky's deck disagree with you!
Karachi is at mercy of Indian Navy and mig 29k is waiting for their pakis prey!

This would be over burden for navy at present scenario! While on paper it looks superb but actual scenario is meh!
First budget constraints will force navy other procurement to stall then army will ask to hand over control of navy infrastructure to them which navy will never. Similarly IAF wants to hand over to them navy aviation as well as army aviation...
Army doesn't fore go their infantry while navy doesn't want to lose there assets!
Indian Navy wants to be become blue water navy and Navigation security provider of Indian Ocean., With this aim navy should concentrate on Subs, Destroyers frigates IAC-1 costal batteries UAVs and formidable Coast guard. If navy wants to get involve with Pak or bully them that's only in sir creek area...
Pakistan can be taken care by coast guard
This British-era mindset must change drastically. The Army's crybaby tactics are making the IAF and Navy headless warfarers. Either the Army change completely and realign with the Navy & AF for Joint Commands OR they behave in every possible way like the Pak Army,ie, they command the IAF and Navy too. This "My way or highway" attitude is harming national security objectives. And, then there is our Air force, duh!!! They want every bird, EVERY BIRD either made of steel or of flesh, over Indian skies, to be under their thumb. Truly a younger brother of the Army in grabbing the pie. Wonder what if the Navy treated the other two step-brotherly......if this goes on, the Navy will do so , sure!!!!

British era mindset is embibed in all tri services not only in army!
Army aviation corps should be with army not with IAF! Similarly navy - Aircraft carrier or coastal naval base operations should be under Navy. Here IAF demands both to be with them and trying to arm twist. IAF wants to be like PAF controling all 3 armed forces but it's ain't possible. Out of all 3 Indian navy is most powerful and mostly self reliant atleast in building ships unlike import hungry IAF and army! By your logic IAF is behaving it's all their highway and highly poking their nose in army/ navy when they couldn't handle their own dying squadrons. Apaches should be under Army aviation corps not with IAF and they're reluctant to hand over to army but they claim navy coastal land bases should be under IAF 😂
CDS ( former army general) thinks IAC2 future ( navy) is not necessary and wants to negotiate 22 Apaches transfer to Army ( again he is looking into his own army background , could have done it earlier only when he was general or forced MoD to place more orders instead of 5 Apaches for army). Now regarding IAF MMRCA his statement indigenous aircrafts was immediately rebutted by IAF chief ( import aircraft). Due you think Tri services will squander their assets or imports?? Heck they won't even share a square foot of land to each other. All have astonishing claims of each other assets to get hold of.
IAF and Army should stop this eyeing pricy toys or import weapons cat race... Navy is only which is deprived of arming to the teeth wrt the coastal line we have!

I also have the same feeling about IAF, but the Army too thinks it has all things covered. Army must look into the IAF and Navy proposals seriously, too. CDS needs to act fast........

Being built? LCH initial 15 was built by HAL from their own pocket yet there is no order placed. 83 Tejas will be built only if orders are placed currently 40 Foc Tejas being built that's it.

Sigh . Hal is already sourcing components for mk1a. As airframe is same that of foc lca .

Lch hanger for production of 30 per year is already build and was opened by rajnath Singh.

These are guaranteed orders .

Missile park to be set up at INS Kalinga.

The foundation stone for a Missile Park named ‘Agneeprastha’ was laid at INS Kalinga by Cmde Rajesh Debnath, Commanding Officer, in the presence of Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, on Friday. The Missile Park, once completed, will be dedicated to all the officers, sailors and support staff of INS Kalinga, who have served in this premier operation-support Base of the ENC since its establishment in 1981. The park also commemorates the award of the prestigious Unit Citation to INS Kalinga for the year 2018-19.

The park aims to capture glimpses of missile history of INS Kalinga since 1981 till date. The missile park will be set up with a replica of missiles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) that showcase the evolution of missiles handled by the unit. The exhibits have been created from scrap/obsolete inventory which have been reconditioned in-house. The main attraction is the P-70 Ametist, an underwater-launched anti-ship missile from the arsenal of the old ‘Chakra’ (Charlie-1 submarine) which was in service with the Indian Navy during 1988-91. The park will also provide a one-stop arena for motivation and stimulation of inquisitive minds regarding the missiles and related technologies, from schoolchildren to naval personnel and their families.

Due to delays in the submarine projects, the Defence Ministry has approved Medium Refit cum Life Certification or MRLC of six older submarines, so that the force levels do not decline drastically. The first MRLC has already commenced in Russia in Jul 16 and is on schedule. Contract conclusion for MRLC of second submarine, Sindhuraj, is held up since the Russian Side has not been able to submit requisite Bank Guarantees and Integrity Pact as a result of the sanctions imposed by the US Govt on them. It has been recommended to the MoD that Corporate Guarantee of the JSC USC, a 100% Federal owned Enterprise firm backed by FSMTC could be accepted and Fast Track approval of the Competent Authority accorded for Contract conclusion. This would facilitate departure of the submarine to Russia by Jun 17. The Russian Side indicated M/s L&T as their preferred partner for undertaking MRLC of the third Submarine Sindhuratna in India. While the Navy also recommended issuance of Request for Proposal(RFP) to L&T, approval of Ministry of Defence is awaited. An early decision in this regard is essential since the Submarine’s refit is scheduled to commence from end 2017.

P28 Corvette— The first three ships, INS Kamorta, INS Kadmatt and INS Kiltan have been commissioned in Aug 14, Jan 16 and Oct 17 respectively. The fourth ship is likely to be delivered in end 2019. The time overrun was attributed to delay in development of steel, delay in development of indigenised weapons and sensors and delay in completion of trials for critical equipment like Diesel Generators, AC Plants etc. Cost overrun is attributable to the increase in costs of developmental Projects, and introduction of new/ state of the art equipment/ systems.

In a hypothetical situation always a salvos of missiles 2, 4,6,8 will be launched based on threat perception or acquired intelligence data!
I hope atleast once a year, one IN ship fires the full Salvo of Brahmos(Sea to land) for testing & training purposes.

Kya pata, kaun-sa problem bahir nikle war time mein!!

yes. a bit old.

It mentions LCU mk4. whose deliveries have been completed. But report is of 1 delivery completed.

Posted to keep a formal record of reasons for delays. Rather than just source based news reports.
