Foxconn? really? Foxconn is good at putting together components from different vendors. They have no experience in semiconductor manufacturing. I don't know what exactly they will bring to the table here that Vedanta would be interested in. I hope Vedanta is going for setting up 28nm node at least.

Sometimes things start with integrating different parts to make finished products. Once the viability is proven, industries further improve operations by manufacturing inhouse or locally to cut costs.

Chin also gets all high end fabricated semi-conductor chips from TSMC. In short we have to start somewhere then optimize production more and more building an more advanced semiconductor base.
