HUnger index credibility dies the moment they place India below Congo, Nigeria. I mean there's a limit to being stupid.

I mean these nations have multiple times higher poverty than India despite having far smaller population than us. Congo's population is 14 times less than India but extreme poverty is 4.5 times higher than India in absolute numbers. And I won't dwell further debunking everything. Just because those german shepherds "feel" that India = slumdog millionaire is none of our issues.

There is hunger and malnutrition in India, that's for sure, the thing though is NFHS is most likely overestimating it and by quite a margin.

Some data:
NFHS 5 tracker(2019-2020):
StuntingUnderweightWasting
35%32%19%

Poshan tracker(November 2023 data):
StuntingUnderweightWasting
37%17%6%

Now Poshan tracker is actually far more reliable. It's a real time community based monitoring app that monitors more than 75 million children. The data is entered by Asha workers each month.

NFHS skews rural and their dataset is much smaller, just 7 lakh households are surveyed. Poshan data also is rural only since it sources the data exclusively from Anganwadi centers. If you also include urban India, as an overall %age, the above numbers might be even lower.

But of course the shitty German and other Soros funded NGO's + their Liberandu coolies will continue to use the 4 year old poor quality NFHS data and other random shitty opinion polls.

And Nigeria for god's sake is literally having food riots where people were looting local granaries last week. No such riots in India. No way in hell we're worse than them.

The most random shit is Happiness Index.

What the heck is this?
How we are quantifying this?

Meanwhile the so called Higher ranked countries every guy is on anti depression pills. At least we have nosy relatives and family structure which support at any age.

Nothing to talk about west here.

Based on Indian govt. surveys.
Government has set up Poshan Abhiyaan just for this purpose. And it is monitored apparently at aanganwadi levels. Our U5MR is around 26 I think which has decreased quite a lot. And will fall further as health sector is getting strengthened in poorer states. Now the nutrition thing is a different khel. This requires two things:
- making sure mothers are not anemic during birth
- the baby gets all the nutrients in the first few years of its development

Right now the Poshan tracker has been suspended for whatever reason. And Modi does not mention it as a success. The program must have failed. Need to correct the problem and reintroduce. I don’t know why it failed if it did fail.

stunting/wasting = low iq
Not really. These links are not proven at all. And certainly not mental disability. That is an extreme statement to make. Many students in IIT come from poor backgrounds in Bihar and grew up stunted by the way. You can see that the average height of Biharis is less. This does not mean they developed learning disabilities. This is a western trope. We must stop believing in western research at face value. There is significant research fraud in America for instance even from big universities like Harvard. We must not fall for such claims.

Govt. cannot fix its own data. What dumb fuckery is that. There is no country that has become developed without solving basic education (class 1-12).

As far as innovation ranking is concerned, it supports my point as its not per capita. 30% of India population > Vietnam total population.

That 30% get good education and hence can create more innovation and complex products. But lower 30% can never join the economy created by the top 30%, because the bottom 30% is not equipped to join the complex economy created by top 30%. In Vietnam they can, hence you will see Vietnam will keep outpacing India in GDP per capita.
This has got nothing to do with stunting. It has everything to do with lack of infrastructure, teachers being absent or vacancies, not teaching a learning outcome based curriculum etc. It also to do with poor college enrollment ratios. Many kids drop out of school in high school reducing the overall school years average. The poor school education system has let them down - not malnutrition or stunting.

Yes. People need to stop blindly quoting these rankings. Many of them are created by poorly paid interns sitting in a basement. These NGOs do such rankings so they can collect donations. It has nothing to do with reality. There is significant amount of fraud in western NGO operations. The CEO of these NGOs get paid huge salaries depriving money for the actual recipient. There are huge cartels behind these rankings. Never trust without digging deeper.

The Indian education system, with its emphasis on rote learning and memorization over critical thinking and problem-solving, seems designed to prioritize passing exams over genuine understanding. This excessive focus likely contributes to India's high dropout rates and situations like those documented in the ASER reports, where higher secondary school students struggle with elementary math and reading skills.

India is facing high school dropout rate, and the reason isn't distance, lack of infrastructure or high cost

this one is from a Maharashtra based educational institution

Lot of foreign (idiots of highest degree in their own lands) dudes on here and domestic idiots taking all sorts of bs studies as gold standard. Most studies now in the last few decades are plain wrong as they don't employ valid methodologies and basic intent is already defined in a prejudiced manner....whoever believes this nonsense without using common sense is a dumbwit.

Big talk for a country whos bottom 30% are the in the worst position amongst bottom 30% of the developed world.
GDP per capita is not very relevant. Not when you create money outta thin air by printing trillions and your growth is entirely funded by exporting your debt to Asia.
He's an Indian origin guy - I think - living in the US.
