Looking at the big bucks outlay for Cars, auto components and Batteries, Gadkari wasn't kidding when he said he wants India to become auto manufacturing hub

PLI scheme extended to 10 more sectors

Sectors include
  • Cars and Automobile components
  • High tech Batteries( I guess of the type used in EVs )
  • Food processing
  • White goods
  • Electronics items
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Solar PV modules
  • Textiles
  • Telecom and networking products
  • Specialty steel

Aside from food processing, all other sectors are bang on target and just what the economy requires, we lag in various fancy grades of steel, IP and Telecom networking equipment, computer/laptop/server manufacture, Medical API, battery manufacture and Solar PV cell manufacture.

Hope Govt is generous and on time in disbursing these incentives to companies who meet/exceed targets.
The government needs to diversify energy supply [NUCLEAR] as well as immedietely get stakes in mines that get Lithium, Cobalt, other rare earths, and copper mines. This is literally the desperate need of the hour if they want to not be held by the balls by the Chinese and Saudi oil magnates.

Congo is largest producer of Cobalt.
11 of the 13 biggest mines there are owned by Chongs.
Biggest producer of Lithium is Bolivia, and of Copper is Chile.
For other rare earths there is only Chong.

We also need to find a good source of the type of coal used for power generation.

Nuclear energy is the only viable option in long run. India do sit on humongous reserve's of methane hydrates , but again technology viability , cost and environmental factors will play a major role in deciding what source to use going into the future. fusion energy is probably also around the corner.

India has the largest Thorium reserves in the world. Over 30% of the world's total. Currently under exploration. Should serve us extremely well for a long time.

Correction: India has almost 1 million tonnes of thorium. We can have a fucking monopoly on energy if this is played right by 2050...

So like most countrys you get a lease on mines( for extra chink lulz, im sure its a 99 year lease )
Chings also buy the Congo politicians there are, very cheap to acquire.
They also probably buy the over 9000 guerilla groups there are that appear next to these mines like mosquitoes to warm blooded animals.
So in this way they have the entire country in their thrall.
Btw this is a part of a push to acquire lithium, cobalt and all because they think EVs gon take off.
It has been many years in the making.

They have pumped over 5 trillion dollars in Africa in the last 15 years. All of Europe hasn't been able to do that for the last 400 years.. There are Confucius colleges in Africa. Chongs own the fucking place
Africa will be the bread basket and cheap labour for China, its basically colonization of Africa....again.

Divest off of coal and go straight to nuclear. Seriously. Nuclear is the way to go. Clean burning, basically limitless once you start. Rare earths are the next step

Does PLI of just 5000 Crore for this Electronics entire sector indicate that government is not keen about having Semi conductor Fab in India? The amount seems to small to me.

I am hearing about thorium for age's. end result is... india only managed to build a 700MW PHWR at that to on a CANDU reactor design. breeder reactor is another viability given that safety issues are dealt with. But i think fussion reactors are on the horizon.
Same thing. We are building thorium reactor since ages and it will solve our energy problems blah blah blah!!!
It has been atleast 15 years since i am hearing thorium reactor news. The nuclear science is same accross the world then why does our reactors gets critical in over 10 yrs but at other places they get critical in half time? :frusty::frusty::frusty:

Most fabs need proper infrastructure like ample supply of clean( like distilled ) water, less dust external environment( lots of specific trees have to be planted around fab for this purpose ) etc, these all are to be provided by govt.
In Addition to other incentives, PLI by itself is not enough, so yes they don’t seem to be interested about fab, they were in 2014 but private corps are pussies and don’t want to put down the money, meanwhile govt also doesn’t want to put money in a Semiconductor Fab PSU, it could be and SPV and later privatised, but like i said no interest.

The 5000 cr outlay i think is for laptop/aio/server assembly here, along with PCB or Display manufacture in India, not for fabs

In any case by next year I think things may clear up

So I read articles where the Lenovo India MD seems excited for Electronics PLI in context of laptop manufacture, however no word from Dell or HP in this regard.
Dell, HP, Lenovo are big 3 in terms of AIO Desktops, Laptops and Server sales world wide.
computers of all three types are a big market even now, the pandemic has further underlined this.

The PIB notification mentions Semiconductor Fab. The water & other things can be done if state & central governments become serious about it but there does not seem to be that much focus on this & even private Indian companies are not interested because of this.
