Bangladesh gov't is planning to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India.

all they really care about is greater market access...the blanace of trade will be skewed in their favour if we let go of the duties we impose on them for routing chinese equipments with bangladeshi labelling. but on paper FTA is a good idea, as long as prevents dumping.

That’s if you’re in manufacturing business, IT and FinTech doesn’t face resistance from commies usually.
I find it funny how they think can just bypass manufacturing because they think they have eductated labour even kerala dosen't want manufacturing companies to set up here but instead want it companies and fintech companies

Arre, probably not going to happen anytime soon. India is not interested after having learnt its lesson from the South Asian FTA. GOI is eyeing greater market access to EU, US, Aus, UK and middle east after building up the capacities and economy of scale through PLI, labour codes etc. Bangladesh does not offer much to India. Go look at their consumption indicators; they are barely better than Pakiland. Apart from that BD has a history of giving tall talks on FTA only to backtrack in an advanced state. They are even thinking of joining RCEP; which could have devastating impact on their donestic industry (even textiles) - how on earth are they going to compete with china, ASEAN, Japan or Korea? The fact is they do not really care about FTAs or making their industry more competitive or even building up capacities or slowly moving up the value chain and diversifying to high value manufacturing/service. All they want is one way market access (case in point being their sky high tariff rates) so that they can keep selling their RMG/low value labour intensive products once their GSP status is gone by 2025/26. The so-called economic 'miracle' bubble of BD is due to trade wars and GSP only and not due to structural characteristics and they know this; hence wary of what happens 4-5 years from now.

Tesla one sounds doubtful, they only recently moved there(with heavy CAPEX) and it won't have the domestic market as comparable to China.
Foxconn already has a factory in India, so localization of some other components could be plausible.
India surely won't be a decent enough market for India for the next 15 years, what's the market for >$40,000USD cars in India today? That too EVs? And that's the base model-Model 3, which can go up to $60K easily. Model Y starts at $100,000

Tesla has no plans of making market-specific models and the Model 3 is the cheapest model they will have for the foreseeable future.

That said, Mercedes Benz seem to be thriving in India but then they do have local models (to a degree).

If it happens I imagine Tesla will have some sort of bespoke agreement with GoI that waives import fees for SKDs.

makes complete sense...these are basically HQs...good start, though it has nothing to do with the state's industrial policy which is a case study in itself (take it anyway u like). real estate , like hotels, etc is perhaps the only industry that is moving in kolkata, if not bengal. however, the low hanging fruits, like textiles,etc...never gets the kind of attentiion or budgetory allocation it requires. one only needs to study the latest state budget to understand what i mean. besides, there are more spectacular building in kolkata that have been under constructiion for ten years now. they surely add to the city skyline...does pretty little for the economy. these projects , have no spillover effects that create an industrial ecosystem ina state that is addicted to rent-seeking and "protection-fees".

Ya'll Nibbiars The creative houses are run by anti Brahminical patriarchal gang which is against oppression by bindi while wearing tent & doing zalala in it is choice & freedom. You should not be objecting to selfeless service they are doing. Bindi gone then blouse gone, all gone, LIBERATING!.

Ad agency try to project picture as secular as. Possible . Though she wearing jewellery weared by married woman but shown as non married. They have to please other non-Hindu customers by giving due weightage to their sentiments. Hindus are mere customer, hindus anyway buy those ornaments, hindus won't react as hindus won't value own sentiments. why anybody give due importance to hindus at the risk of annoying other. The name is chosen as banaras so clearly you know who is behind it at the grass roots just like tanishq.

Ya'll Nibbiars It's universal see one IFS or IAS officer with Bindi or Tika. And see how Moslems Sikhs Xtians all assert their identity, only Hindus don't, the upper class except some communities are to be blamed for the loss of values and customs. Bindi is communal, doesn't fit in a secular divinity photo session. And Removing Tilak, Bindi is part of propaganda. Actually most of these are very poorly designed and projected. Wish they can at least hire people who know the"culture" Even in Kashi they can't present ladies with bindis and draped in Banarasi sarees.

This poster is what advertisers should never do. Or, in Sanjay Jha’s words, it’s like a zero sum game. You may attract a few customers, but you will irritate a few more. Net net, you have no nee customer. Institutionalisation of hatred and undermining of Hindu faith and culture among elite young. It’s so much that the directors, artists, designers, agency folks collectively & subconsciously decide that kumkuma/Bindi is not required here. Despite the demographic & target audience.
