This is from an operation which happened in June...
Exclusive: Shootout at Pulwama Between Indian Forces and Militants
See the tactic used.
One team is assaulting the position ( With the help of Ballistic Shields & MPV ) and another team is ready to spray fuel and burn the position from other side. See some Army guys in civil dress which are probably army int guys joined the team after passing on the info.

Going by this video, isn't there a case to be made about having belt fed LMGs for cover fire?

Atleast bring back bellet guns or shoot at anyone who interfere in army operations. These nice goody goody gestures only emboldened these traitors. Bring back pre 2005 special operating procedures when Kashmiris used to runaway at the sight of bsf/army vehicles.
