All other delegations are well equipped with modern combat helmets but we have sent them with Model 1974 helmets. Maybe, the unit has still not received the new helmets.

Correct the preference is to troops posted in JK , NE & UN Ops. But still some equal distribution is being done for rest of the infantry which we saw in JE with British & Thai Armies. May be this particular battalion of Rajput Regiment didn't receive the first batch.

Even if this unit had not received new helmets, these could have been issued to them from sector stores. I dunno WTF is going on. We seem to care a fig about our image abroad - supposed to be the 4th best in the world, but probably one of the worst equipped!

This exists in all the parties as there are many people who have successfully contested elections even though they had criminal proceedings initiated against them.
That's how our Indian political system is.

Even the SC is vexed about this problem. Whenever they try to ban such elements, the ruling govt tweaks the law to subvert and bypass the SC, thereby, allowing such elements to continue being a part of the political strata.

Will act against 'inimical elements' along LoC, Pak army assures India

HIGHLIGHTS

NEW DELHI: With the new Imran Khan-led government set to take office in Islamabad, Pakistan army on Thursday assured the Indian Army that it will take "prompt action" against any "move by inimical elements" in the proximity of the Line of Control and respond to any information shared by New Delhi in support of anti-terrorist operations.

This assurance came during the hotline talks between the Indian director-general of military operations Lt General Anil Chauhan and his Pakistani counterpart Maj Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, at the request of the latter at about 5 pm on Thursday. "The Pak DGMO expressed satisfaction with the measures being taken along the LoC by the rival troops to maintain peace and tranquility. The quantum of ceasefire violations has drastically reduced and augurs well for the future," said a senior Indian officer.

"The Indian DGMO emphatically stated that infiltration attempts by terrorists were a major cause of concern. He also informed the Pak DGMO that these activities have increased in the areas north of the Pir Panjal mountain ranges. He said Pak must institute measures to prevent infiltration from the launch pads located on its side of the LoC," he added.

The Indian DGMO in turn, assured his Pak counterpart that the Indian Army will abide by its commitments to uphold the ceasefire understanding of 2003, provided that the Pak Army initiates positive steps to control infiltration and abetment of terrorism in J&K.

Ever since the two DGMOs agreed on May 29 to “fully implement the 2003 ceasefire understanding in letter and spirit”, the daily cross-border firing duels have indeed drastically reduced. Importantly, the two DGMOs had also agreed that any “issue” will be sought to be resolved through the hotline and border flag meetings.

But Indian officers say the acceptance of the ceasefire does not mean the Indian Army will slacken its robust counter-infiltration measures along the borders, which was evident when Indian troops shot dead two Pakistani soldiers in "a calibrated retaliatory operation" in the Tangdhar sector on Tuesday night to avenge the killing of one of its jawans.

Can Pak be trusted? Not by a long shot! The proxy war ill continue till the end of days as it is part of the Paki Army doctrine written in stone. The strategy laid out in Pak Army's Green Book which is the Army's bible is based on the conduct of Proxy war against India to give it a 'befitting reply' to the 1971 defeat. This cannot be done away with unless there is a paradigm shift in Pak's military thinking and doctrine which is near impossible.

I will take it as pinch of salt. Pakistan will keep waging a deadly proxy until it is alive. No matter who is PM , no matter you put Pakistan in Blacklist , grey list or violet list , no matter number treaties signed by India...Pakistan will continue doing what it started in 1990s.

Arms and Ammunition recovered from 4 terrorists surrendered before security forces in Kupwara
View attachment 27280 View attachment 27281
Media has it that they were intercepted and arrested by the AR and SOG while trying to exfiltrate into POK.

According to Army sources, they were arrested after a brief gunfight in a forest range of Kalaroos. "Extreme restraint was exercised and opportunity given to the militants to surrender. Four recruited militants surrendered. However, three militants fled from the spot under the cover of fire," said the Army.

Surrendered? Just goes to show their poor level of motivation!

If they were trying to exfil, it is possible that they were going back after delivering arms ( lightly armed to move faster) or if new recruits are involved, then the arms confisticated from them must be stolen ( which is never in high quantity).
