I think you're confusing Para SF with RR!!
RR has folks coming in on deputation and then they go back to their previous regiments!
Para SF does source folks from other regiments, but once selected (quite prestigious) they remain Para SF!!!

I haven't touched the flag setting since I created the profile....something must be going on with the system.

Also, he hugged the army chief with such familiarity as if they were schoolmates. It's possible that Ghataks go to Para SF for some kind of cross-training. But that doesn't make them Para SF.

Correct! Ghataks are a regular infantry platoon but with better training and weapons. Para SF personnel have a parent battalion before induction to the SF to which they revert only in case of them not being able to perform due to injuries etc.

1. Ghatak Platoons ARE NOT SF. Not even close. Ghatak is a scout/recon element of a Battalion and as such their best soldiers and get better training (Specialized for their role)
2. All SF Officers are there on deputation. They can at best do 2 tours of 4 years each (can someone confirm tenure?).
3. Even most ORs eventually rotate out of SF back to their parent units. A Human body can only take so much grind day after day. Eventually their operational capability becomes diminished. FACT OF LIFE
4. few Senior NCO's stay lifers. They go on to Training and other Commands within SF.
5. Most CO's who rotate back to command positions within SF have served in SF before.
6. SF kills most officers careers (if they stay too long) but enhance their careers with a brief stint)
7. To Volunteer for Para SF Selection - your unit commander has to RECOMEND you. I.e you have to be the top 5% of that battalion's soldier. invariably you find that quality within Ghatak platoons so a higher % of Ghatak Platoon soldiers get recommended for selection. Being a Ghatak Member DOES NOT MEAN selection in SF.

The US, which had via its Department of State called for Pakistan to do more about the terrorists on its soil, has also brushed aside Pakistan's ensuing protests regarding the contents and veracity of said statement.

Not yet even a week old, Pakistan's new government had already had to backtrack regarding the contents of PM Modi's congratulatory message to Imran Khan, and now, it's had to do the same regarding the US' statement.

Is this how the new Paki govt is going to run? Lies and deceit have always been its hallmark. Nothing's going to change. After all, one can't straighten a dog's tail.

Depends on which units were sent. SCO meet is an uncomfortable exercise for all participants. It's like all cut throat enemies eating dinner at a public place with loaded pistols pointing at each other under the table.
