PoK-based terrorists from own group helped cops kill Hizbul Mujahideen top gun

The killing of senior Hizbul Mujahideen leader Qayoom Najar in Jammu & Kashmir last week followed a specific tip-off from PoK-based terrorists of the same outfit. The information regarding Najar's plans to return to Kashmir from Pak occupied Kashmir, including the exact route he would take through the mountainous terrain, was leaked to J&K police a few days before the forces intercepted him at the LoC and shot him dead.

Though the date of his return was not revealed in the tip-off sent out via social media, the J&K police were told the route by which he would return to the valley from the north Kashmir side. The J&K police passed on the inputs to the Army, which mounted a round-the-clock vigil on the suggested route. Najar was subsequently killed while trying to infiltrate across the LoC in Uri sector.

Intelligence agencies here claimed Pakistan had been doubting Najar's loyalty ever since he fell out with his PoK-based Hizbul Mujahideen handlers in 2015 and floated his own outfit Lashker-e-Islam. It was during this independent stint that Najar carried out attacks on mobile towers and personnel linked to cellphone companies in the Valley.

However, after working on his own for a few months, Najar and Hizbul Mujahideen leaders, for reasons still steeped in mystery, buried their differences. Soon after, he decided to cross over to PoK and had been staying there since. It is believed that he was camping in PoK to hold secret talks with Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.

According to sources, Salahuddin is said to have persuaded Najar to return to his homeland to take charge of Hizbul Mujahideen after its top commanders—Burhan Wani, Sabzar Ahmed and Yasin Itoo — were killed one after the other in counter-terror operations by the Indian forces. "But this seems to have been a ploy because the same group informed police about his return," claimed an intelligence operative.

Hailing from Sopore, Najar joined militancy as an over ground worker (OGW) of Hizbul in 1992 at the age of 16. He initially transported weapons and provided lodging facilities for militants. Najar was arrested in 1994 but released later. He re-joined active militancy in 1999.

Najar (43) was the longest surviving terrorist in the valley and was categorised as an A++ militant. He reportedly married the sister of a slain militant before crossing over to Pakistan in 2015

http://www.wionews.com/india-news/i...gun-battle-suicide-squad-still-on-loose-20960

A nine-hour long gunbattle was what it took to kill the three Jaish-E-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists who had sneaked into the 182nd Battalion Camp of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Srinagar in the wee hours of Tuesday but security forces have reason to believe that there are still four JeM cadres roaming free in the Valley, plotting another fidayeen attack.

“There is credible information that 10 JeM terrorists had infiltrated into the Valley a few days back. Three of them were killed in the encounter in Pulwama where they attacked the District Police Lines. Of the seven who were remaining, three were neutralised today. That still leaves us with four more terrorists who are still out there planning the next fidayeen attack,” reliable sources told WION.

The BSF battalion camp that came under attack today is located in close proximity to the Srinagar International Airport, in the Humhama area of Budgam district. And while security agencies maintain that the airport was not the target, the possibility of them using the camp as a base to launch an attack on the airport is not being ruled out completely.

The three terrorists who were gunned down today had been spotted in a black-coloured Alto car on the Pulwana-Budgam border late Monday night.

Two of them were clad in BSF uniforms while the third was in civilian clothing, sources said.

In the wee hours of Tuesday, the terrorists used a wire cutter to cut through the perimeter fencing of the BSF camp and get inside. “It appeared to be a brand new, newly-purchased wire-cutter,” a source said.

As soon as the three terrorists gained entry into the camp, from behind the Subordinate Officers' (SO) Mess, they ran in different directions. While one of them dashed toward the Administrative Block, the second made his way to the SO Mess and the third made a run for the canteen.

It was then that the terrorist who was running towards the canteen — wearing civilian clothes — was challenged by a BSF sentry. “This terrorist responded with firing a burst but was not good enough for this sentry who took him out swiftly,” a source revealed.

The other two terrorists managed to enter the Administrative Block and the SO Mess, respectively. “It was in the SO Mess that this terrorist martyred the BSF Assistant Sub-Inspector. Before he could cause more damage, he was overpowered by the JCOs there who snatched his weapon and neutralized him,” the source said.

Meanwhile, the terrorist who had entered the Administrative Block opened fire and injured an exchange operator and two to three more BSF personnel, one of whom was hit by a bullet in the abdomen. This terrorist was finally killed when he tried to escape from the Administrative Block.

Sources said the three JeM terrorists were heavily armed

We need hang all the collaborators of this attack. Its not difficult to identify the local terror sympathisers who facilitated the tangos movement towards camp

Looks like Napakis are fast expending their daura-e-khaas tangos to shore up the terrorism in Kashmir valley and also hit the morale of the Indian SFs and the aam janta.

The tangos have been attacking frequently and being dispatched even more frequently. Despite the steady supply on the other side, only a few must make it to the commando level training. Now they are being halaaled faster than they can be hatched.

I would hazard a guess that after the surgical strikes last year, Napakis do not wish to lose their assets in another strike- this is stock clearance, so to speak..

Expect some major attempts at terror attacks soon, perhaps the desperate tangos will shift to soft targets.

Good! So we have managed to infiltrate the ranks of terror organizations especially the HM. Could be one of the reasons for killing dozens of terrorists this year with the info provided by them.

The items above were left by the Fidayeen pigs today when they ran deep into Akhnoor forests after being spotted by our forces.

its time we got few pakhtoon or baluch freedom fighter. make them exfiltrate to POK and cause mayhem.
If you glance through modern history of any insurgency, each and every one has an external patron. A political turmoil is galvanized into full blown insurgency by infusion of material & tactics by external patrons. Some are successfully taken to logical conclusion with the patrons going full hilt (Bangladesh, Crimea, etc) ...others degenerate or abate due to absence of will (Basque, Quebec etc) Our own demon's are provided succor by Pakistan and to a less extent China, we do pay back in the same coin across the Durand Line.

Remember we were one among the patrons (Tajik/India/Iran & Russia) of erstwhile Northern Alliance's Charismatic leader Massod, one of the few countries with advisers/SF/Med corps on the ground pre-9/11, against an organised battle hardened jihadis propped by ISI. NA was the only bulwark against the Taliban-Pak behemoth that bulldozed Afghanistan with active participation of PA in fire fights backed with bombing raids using PAF F-16s across Durand Line. Masood who told European parliament on an impending attack on US mainland 3 months before 9/11, was assassinated 2 days before Md Atta and team brought down WTC. Masood himself died en-route while being airlifted to an Indian field hospital on Tajik/Afgan border.

That umbilical cord is still not severed. Why do you think we are the only country to have embassy in Jalabad in '03 (Pak opened one later as a counter) a dusty town 70kms from Pakistan border post Tokram, a launchpad into NWFP and KP. Paks oft repeated grouse is the strength of our embassy in the dusty town (and also Kandahar, conduit for Baloch freedom struggle). Peshwar is just about one hour ride away. Why do think Haqqanis targeted the Jalabad embassy last year with not one but three suicide bombers.

Did u know we were instrumental in setting up Afganistan's external intelligence agency and trained them "Riyast - i -Amoor-o-amanat-i-milliyah"/Research and Analysis Milli Afghan" RAMA in short. Why do you think Afghan external intelligence agency HQ & training center is in Jabul Siraj district of parwan. The HQ of late Ahmed Shah Masood where our advisory/SF team rotated from during the '96-'01 period. Did u know Masood's one time NA's stalwarts "Sewari" is the ruler of Jalalabad? We go a long way in Afghanistan.

Rest assured the protector of islam is getting screwed on both sides of the border Durand & LOC. Why do you think after the fidayeen style attack on us in Mazar-e-sharief (thwarted by ITBP/Afgan SF in a 24hrs ops) last year was paid back in the same coin in 10 days time at Pak embassy in Jalalabad ...all hell broke loose at Pakistan embassy in Jalalabad with same MO, attackers holed up in a strong room in a house opp to embassy. We showed we can play the same game.....fidayeen attack....

Nowadays it is really easy to get a uniform, hat/cap, boots, and insignias similar to the IA ones, one dont have to got to pak, my friend gifted me a similar hat, he purchased it from a shop in Mhow. From a distance one cant distinguish between fake and real, at-least a civilian cant distinguish. There should be some checks on such shops or sensitive items.

The thing to celebrate it is that ISI terror proxy is breached. :D
They leaked his movement due to their attempt to move away from isi sponsored terrorist network. He was tryied to establish contact with Afghan based islamic terrorists who r not in the control of ISI.

One can't buy rifles such as AK series illegally in India. The only supply source of weapons to Kashmiri jihadis is Pakistan which is done from trading trucks, non-fenced areas where some Pok OGWs & even Paki soldiers infiltrate and bury the weapons & go back or new jihadi infiltrators who shares his ammunitions with other jihadis. Much of it is stopped now. There's real shortage of weapons and ammunitions in Kashmir amongst Jihadis.
