Two service rifles, including an AK assault
rifle and an Insas rifle, which were snatched
during the attack, recovered from their
possession
An AR-41 Rifle was recovered actually along with INSAS
Noor bhai is right,as always.

Here is the pic of recovered weapons. One can see a Bulgarian Arsenal AR-41 assault Rifle and an INSAS 1B1 in the pic among other surrendered items such as a smartphone and a cigarette lighter.

Being honest here, I am quite a noob when it comes to identifying handheld weapons, especially AK's variants & its foreign as well as modified clones.

WTH? Apprehended? These guys should be probed for details and then killed. No sacrifice of our Jawans should be in vain.

That was the unwritten law in the early 90s when terrorism was at its peak. Earlier, we acted all goody goody by apprehending the terrorists like the time we caught 4 of them in Beerwah and handing them over to the police after interrogation. But ironically we were up against the same frikkin yahoos a week later, firing their AKs from the same village at us!! WTF is going on, we thought! Though we gunned them all down we didn't want a repeat.

So, the orders were 'no apprehensions of terrorists'! It was just shoot to kill! The only downside was that interrogation could not be done for actionable info (the dead don't talk!!). But we had enough informers to do the job anyway! :)

However things have changed today as then most of the police were hand in glove with the terrorists. Not anymore.

This question always boggles my mind. The J&K Police SOG is no doubt very effective in neutralising these yahoos. But, how can the Army be sure of the loyalties of the J&K Police ?
JKP, especially SOG is at least as committed and as effective as CAPFs. They have to keep low profile though.

In recent news conference with one of the LeT commanders was shot how JKP took the lead.

In many operations SOG boys accompany the CAPFs and Army.
