I don't get the reason of increased insurgency in two days, but according to them there are 2 reasons
1) porks are getting frustrated
2) they are using there Expendables for diversionary tactics

Our guys are also able to use the extended breathing(operational) space accorded to them by the current government. This is yielding results as actions encompass the PA, the terrorists and the instigators.

I think the reasons behind recent successes of our forces can be attributed to the increased concentration of Rastriya Rifle troops in the LOC(they were brought in from some of the south kashmir districts) and allowing of resorting to heavy hand measures and innovative mob control techniques by our forces. After awarding Maj. Gogoi and standing by him, the govt is clearly saying that the officers won't be penalised for resorting to tactics that might save the lives of general peace loving public and security forces in the valley even if costs one or two lives of paki sympathisers.

It will also save the lives of the stone pelters.

The other practical option is to open fire at the stone pelters, which will cause deaths, which in turn will give people like Geelani talking points.
