Not sure of the credibility of this news. Its not too hard to imagine Hurriyat being the conduit for the money. But the whole trial may or may not be accurate.
There is always a dichotomy between what India does and what we say. Our information warfare capabilities aren't as sharp as that of the Chrislamists. RAW was paying the same guys which are today being labelled as ISI agents. The idea was to cultivate a political outfit which is more Muslim than the ruling Kashmiri mainstream parties, then they fueled their rise to use them as a bargaining chip against NC and PDP. What has happened is that the plan flopped and they have gone out of control and now India is trying to shunt them out.
There was no way for the insurgency + political mobilization to grow to the scale that it has, had it not been for the aid given by our own intel agencies. It's a trick known as 'healing touch approach' where they let the insurgents have their full say, let them have full media access, let them have grand ceremonies for dead terrorists, just to send a subliminal message that "you are so free that you can do anything you want". The establishment calculated that this would act as a pressure cooker steam outlet, but it backfired. The sad reality is that not a single politician, inspector or agent went to the funeral of Kukka Parrey, just to please the snakes that they were coddling up to.
