Those MPVs could have some big guns on top, Like this Cougar MRAPs, one of which is fitted with a Lynx 90 turret. ..

For Indian ones, BMP-1 turret with 73mm gun could do the job ..

NSG does train with ballistic shields.

I had never seen them using shields in various mock drills or in photos .
Probably they train with shields for some special conditions .

After 30:00 sec in the video , the soldier who is sitting near bodies has something mounted on its Kalashnikov , on frontal iron sight over the barrel near muzzle brake .
What is that cuboid like mounted thing ?

The Shields are new (to NSG and Army) It takes time to build up proficiency in any new gear. Just because they have been training with it does not mean they can deploy with it yet.

Reminds me of a story about the US Marines in Iraq. The Marines had just been given new Thermobaric warheads for the AT4 Weapons and Delta had been training them in using the new warheads for weaks (keep in mind that the At4 is already part of USMC orbat only the Warhead was different).

After weeks of training the Marines still insisted their Delta Instructors deploy with them on the first mission as they still were not confident going "live" with new kit.

While my analogy may seem like apples to oranges the principal still holds. Soldiers (forget about SF) do not enter the field with new kit unless they (as individuals and units) have mastered it.

Our Forces never used ballistic shields . They don't use this tactic probably because it reduces the speed and manurablity of soldiers .

US made Bushmaster m242 30 mm Gun.. which has unstoppable Power.. also capable for.. Air burst... round...

Bringing tanks in civilian population has its own demerits, It can be used when extremely necessary, But a modified MPV won`t be called a tank ..

Sport shoes are much comfortable, HE round of RL has adjustable time fuse ..
