Hope snow camouflage would be better in this terrain...if not at least snow jackets in white color
In Most COIN operations in Kashmir you would go from Built up to Semi Built up to Non Built up terrain and then back in a flash.

Having Artic Camo would be nice but all that white inside a Village would serve as much purpose as all the Jungle Camo out on the slopes.

For Patrols on the LOC / SF recon ops etc I agree. But for Large Scale COIN which start with a C&S type op is the cost of such kit justified?

The terrain is the primary reason, why Army don't prefer long range sniper but DMR otherwise Vidhwansak/Danel AMR is in service for years.

If you google it, you find troops using SVD even with iron sight.

Also, MGL in RR service has increased their firepower at the same time reducing the dependency on heavy Gustav.

PS - There was a Foreign Military delegation reviewing CT ops in Kashmir, will post the pics later.

My friend who is in the Marcos said they are regularly involved in coin operations and said that they catch terrorists and kill them after tying them on a tree and target practicing.

Good to know some of the terrorists are getting what they deserve. Hope all are killed that way rather than eating our ration in jails.

Regulars. Mostly Rashtriya rifles.

Sent from my XT1022 using Tapatalk
They basically have the same equipment as Indian Para SF except the Para SF is equipped with TAVOR.

I did some research about the Rashtriya Rifles; they are basically the equivalent of Pakistan's LCB.

The choices of weapons are good; but I'd suggest attachments. Also; do they use a different weapon when engaging in CQC?

^^ And SG is a Black Box... Though for what its worth I have heard tell of 1 SF member who chose to remain with 9 Para over SG deputation because he said 9SF is the elite within the elite.

Borrowed from local SF unit, RR as well as Ghatak under them use AKM ..

J&K police use captured arm mostly ..

RR also have TAVORs so do some JK SOG Units. The TAVORs when first bought were deployed with RR units for Testing and Eval in real ops.
