Thank you for continuously sharing these pics. I request you to post the accompanying one liner, date & location with these photos so that there is some context behind it.

These photos are a snapshot of time, which if properly recorded with dates etc allow us to go back and refer to them where required. For example, a few months down the line a posthumous award may be awarded from this op, if so we can go to the relevant pictures for analysis.

This thread in DFI already has a few years worth of timeline. Lets continue to bolster the content with a quick copy paste of the accompanying info

Its a passive night sight similar to PNS on INSAS LMG and Rifle ..

PNS is available to all infantry units ..

How much is the line of sight range in these type of terrain?

^^ I would assume at best 10-20meters on Average. In the NE it would be ever lower.

In Jammu and Kashmir its always from 5ms to +200ms ..

shooting (as a rifle) quickly and without taking deliberate aim with the sights

reflex shooting , shoot at enemy like its a reflex or reaction , its world record is something like 1.3 seconds and it requires skills , training and precision weapon .
