Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday lighted the 'Victory Flame' from National War Memorial. The 'Victory Flame' would traverse through 11 towns and cities to finally culminate at Drass town in Kargil sector, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army team has comprehensively won the 5th Army International Scout Masters Competition held at Jaisalmer from 06 to 14 August 2019 in a closely contested competition with teams from Armenia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Sudan and Uzbekistan. The closing ceremony was held on 16 August 2019. Honorable Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh was the Chief Guest. The ceremony was attended by General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General SK Saini, Army Commander, Southern Command, delegations of participating countries, members of the International Organising Committee and several civil and military dignitaries. The Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh addressed the participants and appreciated the sportsman spirit, dedication and the professional standards displayed by all the teams in the competition.

The Indian Army has released video of the failed Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) infiltration bid, a copy of which has been accessed by India Today TV. The video of the incident from the first week of August recorded the events in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir days after the government announced its decision to abrogate Article 370. Fresh footage of the incident shows clearly how the BAT taskforce tried to infiltrate into India with the help of the Pakistani Army. At least four to five terrorists were killed by Indian security forces as they tried to make their way to the Indian side.
