Anything is better than the 20year old crap we have (reaching obsolence even back then)... I simply don't get why can't we do it ourselves with Arjun tech!

Tanks have become obsolete in modern warfare, I don't get why world is still investing in tanks, they are only good when enemy are armed with just rifles,

Oh really, tanks are mobile artillery if nothing else.
Having a tank gives psychological advantage as well .
Plus thye have sheer firepower enough to wipe out a large village completely.

India right now needs thousands of missiles and field artillery .
Massed weapons will always devastate enemy , who would know this better than us ?
Since ancient times we have thrown men at enemy in huge numbers, its better we have artillery too in huge numbers.

People only think that 125 mm gun can fire fsapds rounds , lol.
These guns have specialised ammo just for bunkers and general targets , fsapds is primarily anti tank weapon.

Having a tank gives psychological advantage as well .
Plus thye have sheer firepower enough to wipe out a large village completely.

I beg to differ here, for mobile artillery we can go for self propelled gun like bhim or howitzer, artillery on mobility is deadly but not the actual battle tanks, one direct hit from rpg , roasts occupants in the tank, during Azerbaijan Armenia war both sides have lost hundreads of tank, sitting ducks for drones and anti tank missiles.

I see what you are saying, but I still dont agree.
Self propelled artillery was not developed to support troops and fight with them the enemy .
Self propelled arty was developed to increase mobility 0f field artillery guns , its again not a direct fire weapon.
Tanks meanwhile have very thick armour ( armenia azrbaijan ,both had joke of tanks ) which can support Infantry with its main gun , plus it can clear out heavy fortifications with direct fire , plus new tech n like aps etc make it very hard to kill a tank , its a different issue that we don't upgrade our tanks with them.
Tanks are totally relevant for decades to come.

Ask that to US troopers who fought in Urbanwarfare in iraq where even with all the fire superiority it was tanks that acted as primary fire support for infantry.even in Azerbaijan Armenia war Azerbaijan lost 2800 troops + syrian turkroach jihadis in the 100s with full airsuperority .armenians artillery and tanks were devastating for the azeris but everyone only focuses on the drone part because to them " tanks are dinosaurs of the past"can any drone hold territory or capture it? Can any drone provide the safety both mentally and physically to a soldier on the ground on having it fighting wiyh them? Can it have the psychological impact of a 50 ton steel monster coming at 70 km at you with 125mm gun?

Or can it have the reassurance of the fact that a 50 tonne friend of steel is with you , will destroy things which you can't.
Rpg became irrelevant against tanks long back.
Its impossible even for the dedicated carl gustav like weapons to burst a tank.

Battleships were irrelevant in ww2 but in true sense they weren't irrelevant untill any 2 nations had them.that's the same thing for tanks.they are not irrelevant untill some one stop making new tanks

They were not irrelevant, just misused in ship-vs-ship engagements... Aircraft carrier's dive & torpedo bombers were kinda like drones are to tanks now.

If friendly carrier borne fighters were providing air cover, then they wrecked any opponent without similar firepower. Post-retirement they had to be brought back into service several times!
