Indian Army is a total sinkhole it consumes chunk of the budget and still gives sub standard output. They are still Stuck in world war era with Zero innovation and learning.

CAPEX is almost Equal to Navy, while huge chunk of money goes in maintaining the current inventory, the some left over amount is then misused by some and others are left with even less money to go with.

yeap,one without telescopic stock,but no need to worry much since the actual mechanism is same aside from the selector switch but the old one is better from what i heard,the imported ones from russia will likely be with telescopic stock though,but chances are and from Sandeep from twitter,we're getting a normal stock

Honestly we’ll never know for sure unless IRRPL officially releases images or until we see it in the hands of our troops

Lol just 1966 rounds that too in 10 yrs what a joke. No surprise they run for emergency procurement every time.

Were they not initially looking for something like 36k rounds (remember reading something like that a few weeks ago)? Or was that a different weapon/contract?

Also this should have been a Make-1 contract, AFAIK for Make-2 the companies will have to pay for the development and testing cost - I imagine something like this would cost 10's or maybe even low triple digit crores, not a small investment for them (and a huge risk if they fail).
