India's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has decided to import 70,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles from Russia as part of an emergency purchase to meet urgent operational requirements of the Indian Army (IA).

Military sources told Janes on 23 August that the deal for the AK-203 7.62 mm rifles was signed on 19 August between the MoD and Indo-Russian Private Limited (IRPL), the latter of which is a joint venture formed in early 2019 to licence-build about 700,000 units of this rifle for the Indian military.

Is there any SOP because of which they are not using magazines in the rifles while training? Had seen a picture earlier as well with the US troops

These are manoeuvre and communication drills to get the soldiers to learn to operate together. Don't need mags for that.

There is. But this can be circumvented in 2 ways:
1. Use of advanced next generation propellants.
2. Increasing the length of each rocket, while keeping the diameter constant. In this case, top of the rocket will stick out more from the launcher casette, than teh current Pinaka.

It can be done with ramjet rockets . Can achieve 200 plus km without increasing size .
Now even ramjet artillery is developed which has a potential to reach 150 km .

we have to assume ramjet cannot be integrated backwards into pinaaka launcher.

Pinaka launcher has 2 "Pods" that holds rockets. As of now there is only a 214mm caliber option, and each pod holds 6 of these rockets (guided one has only 4 rockets due to space requirements for the canards). The length of the longer 214mm rocket is ~5.2m and weigh 325 kg (so each pod has close to 2t of rockets).
So basically instead of putting 6x214mm rockets you cane have a pod that has say 3-4 ~300mm rockets or 1 ballistic missile (~0.5m diameter, 5m length and around 2t weight). So you can utilise the same platform for multiple munition types. The Americans are already doing this, and Chinese are also doing their same in their newer systems.
