Those who have glass houses do not throw stone at others !!

Thinking the Unthinkable about Napalm and Flamethrowers | Small Wars Journal
Please spare me the self-righteous attitude. Read the comments about Grozny following the article.

And as I have pointed out elsewhere, how many Indians have been hacked to pieces or burned to death by other Indians in recent history? You think nobody knows about that?

Glass houses indeed.

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's

Shopian encounter: The final journey of two martyrs

Srinagar: The wreath laying ceremony of Major Mukund Vardarajan and sepoy Vikram Singh who were killed in the Shopian encounter in Jammu & Kashmir was held at Srinagar on Sunday morning. ( Read: Shopian encounter ends, all 3 militants killed ) Their bodies will be flown out of Srinagar to their respective hometowns. While Major Vardarajan's body will be sent to his home in Chennai, Sepoy Vikram Singh's body will be sent to his home in Haryana. Both leave behind wives and children. Major Varadarajan of the Rashtriya Rifles had passed out of the officers training academy in Chennai in 2004. Security forces launched a search operation in Karewa Malino in Shopian, 55 km from Srinagar on Friday evening following information about presence of three militants - two locals and one foreigner. The militants were asked to surrender but they resorted to firing, triggering the gunfight. The three militants, holed up in a house, were killed. Some arms and ammunition were also recovered from the scene of the encounter, a senior police official said. Shopian is part of the Anantnag Parliamentary constituency and the encounter took place a day after militants carried out an attack on a polling party escorted by police and CRPF in the district at the end of the voting on Thursday.

Tangdhar Area of Baramulla: Army

Two days ahead of polling for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat in Kashmir, the Army today claimed to have recovered seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Tangdhar area of the constituency. "Army troops recovered seven improvised explosive devices in frontier area of Tangdhar in Kupwara district of north Kashmir," a defence spokesman said here. Army had launched a search operation following series of intelligence inputs that militants were planning to disrupt polling in Tangdhar area, the spokesman said. "A search operation was launched around Tod and Gabra villages yesterday. The operation was resumed today and seven IEDs hidden in a hollow tree trunk near Gabra village were recovered," he said. In a joint operation, the Army and police had recovered eight pistols along with eight magazines and 32 rounds of ammunition yesterday in Bandipora district, which also forms part of the Baramulla constituency. "These recoveries assume importance as the final round of general elections in Kashmir is scheduled to be held on May 7," the spokesman said.

New Army Recruits Attain 'Combat Soldier' Status

Around 134 recruits of the 94 Recruit Course of 'The Brigade of The Guards' attained status of "Combat Soldier" at a passing out and attestation parade at the Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee, near here today.

Lt Gen P R Shankar, VSM General Officer Commanding, Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area, reviewed the parade.

The colourful ceremonial parade was presented by the young guardsmen, who are the newest addition to armed forces fraternity, a Defence release said.

Earlier, the guardsmen had undergone a strenuous 34-week training.

The guardsmen were administered the oath of allegiance and devotion to duty by the Adjutant, the release said.

As they crossed the symbolic last step in slow march to the famous 'Auld Lang Syne' tune of the band, the recruits formally attained the status of 'Combat Soldiers', ready for front line duties.
