@Kunal Biswas what is the blast radius of Brahmos.

Because originally as Yakhont it's primarily an anti ship missile rely on its brute force to destroy targets mainly ships.

So how good is against relatively large targets - Air bases or concentrated infantry formations or is it only good for precision strikes on enemy infrastructure both military and Civilian ?

I can only guess what a 200kg HE warhead ( Ground version ) can do ..

As it could be lethal to +150m radius if we count large shrapnels flying around at supersonic speeds, The impact zone ( 10ms ) will be a absolute crater, Lethal brain damaging shock waves to another 500ms..

====================

PJ-10 is design for precision strikes only ..

That's devastating. If 150 mt blast radius is true than it should take less than 5 Brahmos to disable/destroy all the jets on the ground and damaging the runway.

Air force personnel would die by shock wave alone.

These don't even look like hardened shelters that could prevent the Brahmos

If the penetration and subsequent blast occurs in one concrete hanger, does not mean we will see frags flying out to 150 m. The hangar will contain majority of the shrapnel. Aircraft in non-concrete hangers is another story though. Still, a $2.73 million missile taking out an $18 million fighter is economically sustainable. The best place to destroy a combat aircraft is on the ground. If nothing else works, a Brahmos barrage should.

Guys I am confused about how exactly do we deploy SPGs?

AFAIK, they are not a part of the Artillery Divs.

I know that exact Divisional TO&Es are classified. I just need a rough indication as to how many SPGs we have in service, how many are being procured and how many are ideal.
I want to figure out just how independent our Mechanised forces are for maneuver warfare. Especially in the strike corps. Do the Mechanised forces in Strike corps have organic SPGs or do they rely on the Arty Divs?

Do RAPIDs and Armoured Divs have a supporting brigade full of SPGs, or do they have a brigade with one regiment of SPGs and two regiments of towed artillery?

Also, do independent Armoured brigades have their own regiment of SPGs? Or do they rely on towed artillery?

What I am wondering about is the small order for just 100 Vajra SPGs. That does not seem enough. And even if we go through with the follow on order of 500 K-9 Vajras, will that be enough?

The numbers in wikipedia mean we only have about 10 regiments of SPGs inducted right now. So does that mean each of the Armoured Divs have 1 brigade each of the SPGs? But that would mean that the independent armoured brigades (which are not in the same Corps as the Armoured Divs) do not have any SPG support. I really am confused.

Edit: This also means that none of the RAPIDs have any SPG support either.

I believe Armoured divisions have Artillary brigades attached to them, SPGs are attached to Strikes corps and more to RAPIDS now.
indian SPGs count is very low, only 100 K9 isn't helpful, india need 100+ fot porki front.

Fine footage from Kargil War ..
Pakis had Arty locating Radar (AN TPQ 36) during Kargil war but i guess they didn't deployed it near LOC.

Here is Paki Type 60 (D 74) firing during Kargil war
