There was nothing like IL-76 in market until US C-17 showed up in aero india..

It came after C-17 demos in Aero-India..

C-17 are operational where as IL-476 is not..

Remember, IL-476 will have similar spare problems as IL-76MD in IAF..

The major reason India looking at C-17 besides it preform-ace is regular spare supplies and delivery time..

Lady officer pitols of iAF do fly IL -76 MD or for that matter all transport aircraft...
I thought IL-76 was easier to fly than AN - 32 !!
