Exactly why around the world there is an urgent effort to develop cheap and effective counter drone systems. Currently its either missiles ($$$ as you mentioned) or ground based AAA which have limited range

Both are inefficient for these cheap drones and have a lot of trouble with the smallest types. Hence the push for lasers and such
