India's objective is simple: render Pakistan in a state where it ceases to be a military threat to India.
Really, is that so ? How have you come to such a conclusion ?
Is Pakistan a military threat to India?
Many may not agree with you.
Having lost four / five wars, Pakistan has also understood that she can not do much harm to India militarily. Their Army, Navy and AF is not posing a deadly threat to India and unable to achieve Pakistan aims.
So what has it done ?
Pakistan is following a strategy of waging a sub conventional war / hybrid warfare by using terrorism against India to inflict "thousand cuts" as they say and bleed India.
So the aim of India is to stop terrorist activities emanating from Pakistan / Pakistan sponsored sources.
For that :
India will follow multi pronged strategies and approaches.
India will strengthen anti terrorist security grid inside India.
India will pose conventional military threat to the state of Pakistan threatening its existence as deterrence.
Pakistan armed forces being the main component in orchestrating hybrid warfare / terrorism, India will draw and destroy them in battles to eliminate hybrid warfare.
Wage a counter - hybrid warfare inside Pakistan as dissuasive measure.
Diplomatically isolate Pakistan on the issue of terrorism / fundamentalism.
Make Pakistan weak economically.
What has Modi done and its effects :
Mody has commenced hitting terrorist at their bases. That will result in :
Terrorist shifting their bases away from border ares into interior.
That will make infiltration more time consuming and difficult.
Pakistan Army will also be hit and damaged . Loss of their comfort zone and possibilities of their being sucked into larger battles at India's choosing, place and time and which they do not want.
Increase the cost of terrorism for Paki armed forces and Paki nation.
Demoralisation and loss of face for Pak Army, AF and Navy.
Loss of face and political cost for political actors.
National shame and demoralisation for Pakistan is the largest cost they will pay.
