Economic times is biased against India.
This kind of ridiculous masala speculation citing anonymous "sources" is insulting both to the military and to the brave souls who lost their lives in this tragedy.
When COI actually publishes its report and it turns out NOT to be anything like what is described in this rubbish article, will this Puby fellow apologize? Will he be held to account for spreading Fake News? Will he take responsibility for the expected trolling and mockery that will now ensue from pigs using this bilge?
Total nonsense
It's not wild speculation. It's something a lot of us were already considering, given too convenient timing and the nature of eyewitness statements, particularly the explosion just before the helicopter went down.
Most of us chose to keep quiet because there was no point in arguing over it when much more serious issues were at hand.
The article talks of the tremendous pressure on GCI and systems operators because of the unfolding air battle. Add to that Cooper's suggestion that Sri Nagar or its vicinity might have been the real target of PAF, there was always the possibility of blue on blue in the fog of war.
A Court of inquiry is necessary to straighten the facts and separate wrong information from extant facts.
Another CoI should also be opened into the conduct of GCI and air combat controllers as to why they allowed the IAF CAP/BARCAP to be outnumbered. They forced themselves into desperate maneuvering and juggling with available assets when the play could have been made uneven in own favour by launching additional aircraft for intercept/BARCAP.
I do not blame anyone. However questions must be asked as to why and how GCI managed to tie their own hands behind their backs in taking on the 24 ac of PAF. There might be operational reasons, in which case they must be ironed flat.
