Does that mean F-16s and the AMRAAMS have kill switches?? Science fiction at its best!! :biggrin2: Lol!
Is there any other info on such!Even I was wondering.
Interesting..
Logically..USA would put something like that in their products..not just USA but any nation which is into export market of potent weapons. lest its used against them at one point or the other.
PLUS

we all know how the Israel got hold of MIG 21 at one point..very dramatically.
USA would also be very very careful about the movement of their f-16s and other technology intensive assets.
With Data links of f-16...its a probability...

With AMRAAM..I would say there is already something along the line..
LOGICALLY

With AMRAAM..lets see how its wired!! very improbable...but yes..since pakis are not allowed to change anything in it..there is a chance that it could be tagged

At least one foreign policy analyst has suggested incorporating "GPS limitations into Stinger surface-to-air missiles " to assist the Free Syrian Army in its defenses against air attack while ensuring that the missiles are useless outside that theater of conflict. More simply, any device with onboard electronics, such as a Stinger or a modern tank, could have a timed expiration; the device could operate after the expiration date only if it receives a coded “renew” signal from any of a number of overhead satellites.

Logically very possible..as some of these missiles uses GPS or other navigation systems and well!! it can be done

Weapons falling into wrong hands..or a COUP or Storage Raids are always the first priority these days.
wont be surprised if f16s /weapons sold to pakis havs some/many "Easter eggs" in em

But they did manage to put the su-30 on the defensive.. we need to quickly buy really long range bvraams ... and redouble on our development efforts for sfdr missile
Su30 Mki was already in defensive role since take off. Even if we had Rafales and Meteors, would we have fired first on F-16s?

Interesting. But if the Yanks had such a mechanism, they utterly failed to initiate the 'kill switches' to render them duff. The F-16s crossed the IB/LoC and fired 4 AMRAAMs with impunity. What were the Yanks doing? So all this talk of such a gizmo is pure science fiction.

However, this technology may have been incorporated in the F-35s and the latest missiles. AIM 120Cs and the Paki F-16s are of the early 90s vintage and thus may not have this system. The upgraded F-16s of Pak by Turkey would certainly not have this as well as the 14 from Jordan. How the Americans allowed this sale to happen without an end user agreement is surprising!

True.. but they say the OBAMA sold these latest f-16s to pak..in 2010..
Mostly these could be software updates linking with some vital switches..than any mechanical updates...IMO

But yes..the fact that WHY THE USA didnt INITIATE the shut down is a mystery...or it could be pure business.
Did they actually thought that the paki monkeys flying F-16s would shoot one SU down with a long range BVR and them USA can make a sales pitch to India for more modern f-16 renaming it f-22!!!????!!!

#Pakistan to purchase long range Chinese drone aimed Indo-Pak tension!

.

In the aftermath of the growing international pressure on Pakistan to rein in Islamist groups active on its soil, China has decided to come in support of its 'all-weather ally'. As per a report, China will sell long-range technically-advanced drones 'Rainbow' to Pakistan.

Rattled by the surgical strike carried out by Indian Air Force on terrorist training camps in Balakot, Pakistan has decided to procure Chinese unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Rainbow CH-4 and CH5.

According to the intelligence agency's report, Pakistan has decided to increase the number of drones in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir so that they can increase the surveillance on the international border including the Line of Control.

The CH-4 can carry up to 400 kilograms of explosives and can stay in the air for 40 hours. It can cover a range of up to 5,000 kilometres. On the other hand, Rainbow CH-5 can carry up to 1,000 kilograms of explosives and stay in the air up to 60 hours.

The drone can fly up to 17,000 feet height in the air.

According to an official from Defence Ministry, Pakistan, with the help of these drones, can invade the air space in India and hit a target,

In February, the Defence Ministry had approved 54 Israeli HAROP attack drones for Indian Air Force which can crash into high-value enemy military targets to destroy them completely. The IAF has an inventory of around 110 of such drones which have been renamed as P-4. But Pakistan did not have any long-range combating drone until now.

Weapons Load of Chinese CH5 is impressive to say the least,it could cause significant damage if used in drone swarm tactics , Pakistan is looking to buy 48 of these.after losing 8 drones of CH3 and CH4 in a week ,this is the only option they have

What's Pak's strategy here ? Keeping us on the edge till our morale goes down or the leadership changes ? But we are hammering them brutally and their body count is in three figures now. We are enjoying it. The question is, how much casualties can Pak takes before political leadership and media takes a notice and force Bajwa to step back. I am sure that there are some in the Pak army leadership who wants de escalation and peaceful dialogue now rather than the ongoing slaughter of their boys by IA.
