Very funny to see some posters comparing afghanistan to ghaznavi,ghori situation.Lolz.We had no political unity,no mass national consciousness,were ruled by petty fuedal clans with no mass connect.Technology wise we neither had good horses,nor gunpowder against babur,nor anything to combat horse archers.Are you fools really comparing that to the juggernaut that is the modern indian republic?We have a huge middle class that is nationalistic ,military industry,money,massive resources,nukes and one of the largest and deadliest militaries on the planet .We can totally shatter pakistan and afghanistan if we want to in a total war.

Just to put things into perspective to some people who still dont understand,the size of modern india is 3/4th the size of the entire roman empire at its peak.We are a continent as well as a nation,and are still far far away from tapping our full potential.

Rana Sanga actually defeated the Lodis twice in the Battle of Khatoli and the Battle of Dholpur. Unfortunately, the Rajput-Afghan alliance lost a decisive Battle of Khanwa against Babur who himself was thrown out of Samarkand (present-day Uzbekistan) and thus had to come to India. The Rajput cavalry charge was successful against the Lodis and the Gujarat Sultanates as well. I've created a thread on the battles of Rana Sanga and you can go through them.

JMC proposes to name Jammu airport, university after Dogra kings



Jammu, Mar 03: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has proposed to name the state-run university and airport here after Dogra kings and passed a resolution for the same in its general house meeting followed by making a recommendation in this regard to the administration of the Union Territory.

The historic City Chowk, the commercial hub in old Jammu, was renamed 'Bharat Mata Chowk' while another intersection was named 'Atal Chowk' in memory of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee after passage of a resolution by the general house of the BJP-led JMC.

"A resolution was moved in the general house for naming various chowks, roads and institutions in Jammu city," senior BJP leader and Deputy Mayor of JMC, Purnima Sharma, was quoted as saying by PTI.

In this regard, two proposals to rename Jammu Airport and Jammu University were also passed with full majority, apart from renaming various places in the city, she said.

The resolutions have paved the way for renaming the airport as Maharaja Hari Singh Jammu Airport and the local university as the Maharaja Gulab Singh Jammu University.

"It has been recommended to the UT administration to name these institutions after Dogra kings," Sharma said.

Maharaja Gulab Singh was the founder of the Dogra rule in Jammu and Kashmir and Maharaja Hari Singh was the last Dogra ruler, who signed the Instrument of Accession with India in 1947.

Sharma, who moved the resolution for change the name of the city's main intersection point to 'Bharat Mata Chowk', said this place is historic and a witness to major decisions and protests in the past.

"Every year people hoist the tricolour on Republic Day and Independence Day at this chowk. There was a popular demand from the public to rename it as Bharat Mata Chowk," Sharma said.

The starting point of the circular road near Panjtirthi in the city was named by the JMC as 'Atal Chowk' in the memory of the former prime minister.

The Bharatiya Janata Party swept the JMC polls, winning 43 of the 75 wards, after the urban local bodies elections were held in the erstwhile state in four phases from October 08 to 16 in 2018 after a gap of 13 years.

NIA achieves a Conviction Rate of over 90% in the cases entrusted to it: Shri G. Kishan Reddy
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, in a written reply to a question regarding performance of National Investigation Agency (NIA), in Lok Sabha today, said that the NIA was created in pursuance to enactment of NIA Act, 2008 with a mandate to investigate and prosecute terrorism related cases having national and international ramifications and other crimes affecting sovereignty, security and integrity of the country.

Since its inception and till date, the Central Government has entrusted 319 cases to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for investigation. Out of total cases registered, in 237 cases charge-sheets have been filed. Judgement has been pronounced in 62 cases in which, 56 cases have resulted in conviction. Total 276 persons have been convicted in these cases. The conviction rate is 90.32%, Shri Reddy stated in the reply.
