Overjoyed Imran Khan Floored by Modi
Returning to a hero’s welcome to Pakistan after his trip to US, hardly did Imran know that another surprise is waiting for him from India, to which he will be speechless or fumble for words. Modi in India with a parliamentary maneuver removed the last leftover of Nehru’s half cooked Kashmir integration deal. The nation had been looking forward to it for the last 50 years to integrate Kashmir to India in all respects. A temporary deal of 1954 seemed to become almost permanent unless something is done to it. Modi waited for his big election win two months back and found an opportunity to revoke the special status Article 370 of Indian constitution, which had been a roadblock to peace in the region.
The foregoing had resulted in a major terrorist movement in Kashmir, all sponsored by Pakistan to pry Kashmir from India since its status was temporary as granted by the Article 370. Pakistan was enjoying the terrorist movement, even if it had received very hard knocks to cease and resist in last one year. Unmindful, Pakistan continued with its a thousand cut policies and always lied about its impact on them even if they lost close to 350 terrorist trainees in Indian strikes.
Now the time had come to do something substantial politically. It was the abrogation of Article 370. And if Pakistan did not like it, then they can try militaristic force. But if they did the same forthwith, as Article 370 in Kashmir is no longer in force, then they are not invading Kashmir, but whole of India. A major military confrontation has started. Pakistan with its lowest point in the economy and no assurance from Trump for resumption of military and economic aid, will not survive a week on the battlefield. Nuclear weapons aside, which are for intimidation, Pakistan has no other means to resist the Indian juggernaut.
Now Imran Khan can wipe away his smile. Him as a non seasoned politician is a puppet in military hands. For all losses, military will blame him, although it is they who initiated all that.
Hence Imran’s and military leadership who is manipulating him, their future is not secure.
Stay away from very clever Modi, that is a good advice to you PM Imran Khan. Make less noise, confront the military for their bad policies and if you can remove them from power then do it. Or as an alternative, remove them from policy making power structure.
