Usually the drone swarms will be released by a carrier or mother aircraft So the mother plane should be shot down before it gets within range of the target and releases the drones. Swarm drones are usually small in size with limited fuel and having a small warhead. The flying range of the swarm drones will be within a 100km I guess, maybe even shorter range.

Individual suicide drones like the Israeli Harpy can be picked up better by Aerostat radars vis-a-vis ground radars. Once detected even light trainer aircraft like our HTT40 armed with cannon gun can shoot them down. Even helicopters with guns can bring them down.

Non kinetic means to bring down the drones are the most cost effective. Directed Energy Weapons, jammers etc.
