Is Pakistan a 'democracy'?

The voting percentage in Pakistan is consistently below 40%. Most people are poor and disinterested in the political process. Votes can be bought easily and violence takes care of the rest.

Polls are heavily manipulated in Pakistan, so much that the election outcome is a joke.

There is no democracy in Pakistan. There never was.

Implying that Pakistan's problems would have been solved if democracy had been perfectly implemented and not stayed the same or worse exacerbated.

Pakistan's problem was always mainly its people and their core belief system which is mainly Islam.The other 'systems' and 'institutions' such as the military,corrupt bussiness people and politicians are actually I think making it a little bit better if you can believe it.They are also centrally influenced by islam.Here I think the people are leading the leaders and institutions and no system will stop or will have stopped them from being the way they are.

Islam controls the critical mass of people's street power at any time which intern controls and affects all other institutions and groups such as parties,systems of democracy,military,etc.It is now the military which will be lagging behind in radicalism in Pakistan after a while.

If you want pakistan to change indeed you would ironically need a hardcore military background person like general with an army of loyal troops militarily take over and impose strict secularism like ata turk or there is no chance and since the possibility is unlikely and that the population is projected to grow in favour of Islam with no sight of any non islamic minorities you can be assured that pakistan will remain a shithole according to our values.
