We are not going to exert any sort of coercive power until we are a $8-10 trillion economy. That’s because you need a much higher per capita income to exert power. If you exert now, people are going to say - how can a $2000 per capita country dictate to others.

GDP per capita has nothing to impact on your global expedition projects nor any imperial cares what others has to say about them. It is going to crush them under military boots anyway.

Problem lies since you have China and Russia in your neighbor and US sitting in backyard. No less than a first tier power US/Russia/PRC can undertake such operations. Even these won't go without impunity. Russian economy was growing very fast but nosedived due to sanctions after Crimean invasion.
