Recon teams went inside PoK on 24th Night, stayed full 25th and came back on 26th after making Notes of all the activities in the camps, mapping the camp etc, at one place there was 180degree climb, so they left a rope so that when they come do actual raid then that rope would come handy.

One of the raiding party had Carl G launcher man literally hanging on the cliff on a harness and shooting rockets on porkies.

I too thought the same when I watched the DGMO briefing,brother...Then the understood some points after a brief thought...But using our SF for their real purpose-cross border ops,would have its own benefits...First,we get our job done stealthily...Second,the experience would prove useful for future peacetime cross LC strikes effectively,also not to mention the increase in morale of the SF troops...Regular anti insurgency ops r not the work profile of Para SF...Such ops r a risk,anyday...But,SF operations means risk worth 2 be taken,be it peacetime or wartime...I think dat the Surprise which our operators gave 2 the slain Pigs is the reason why Surgical Strikes r taken as an option by the top brass.

How do you develop a SF unit? by exposing them to ops every day. CICT ops provide that opportunity for you to hone such a body of troops so that the day you need the capability it is available to you.

Well if my memory serves me right, as per immanuel@, our first reaction to Uri attack was with artillery bombardment on terror launch pads followed by surgical strike to finish off escaped terrorists from earlier artillery bombardment. Even immanual@ mentioned that ghatak troops kept pakis confined to their bunker by huge volley of fire so as to give enough time for our paras to carry out their assault.

True - dont be surprised if the footage is not the actual one. It might be that even some changes are made in the equipment used. Its foolish to give away operational details.

I wish we did something like this after Kaluchak. It is a sore spot in my memory

I was watching a Paki documentary on LOC named Mahaaz.

So this reporter asks the Officer whose post was right next to the SS target..what had happened.

This fat officer in his late 20s says..humne unko bhaga dia aur unke mansoobe nakamyab kar diye.

I laughed and thought...abay chutiye tumhare area me undetected aakr...tumhare lashkar mar k chale gaye..bhagna toh tha hi unko wapis...aur kya tumhari maa................. :biggrin2:

The technical indications ie the values in the footage is fake let me tell you that.
