i have question so pakis have height advantage in some areas but how to counter them.. can we occupy heights opposite to them in our region and use big guns to target their posts?

Surgical strike on Our Posts i doubt due to several reasons but ambushes on our Patrol (5 - 10 men team ) is very much possible.

But I am more concern about Snipers.

We should be more careful now for few days...Whole of LOC is not guarded? means why patrols?
We should have counter sniper with bigger gun for them...

IMO the only drawback of MKI against Blk 52 is RCS. I've read somewhere that BLK 52 can fly very at very low altitude due to its terrain mapping ability.

Apples and oranges really. The MKI (Su-30 as a whole) is designed to fly high and swoop down on the enemy ie "look down, shoot down". In A2A combat the F-16 is outmanned and outgunned by the more powerful and superior equipped MKI.

The terrain mapping features of the F-16 will be for strike missions and here the IAF employs the Jaguar that has similar low flying abilities and in the future will hand this takes over to the Rafale.

The only aerial asset that poses any real threat to the IAF is the F-16 (who have something like a 50-60% availability rate), the F-7 and JF-17 are nothing but supped up MiG-21s. The IAF enjoys a 3:1 advantage with its prime fighter (SU-30 MKI) and the PAF's (F-16) not to mention the upgraded Mirage 2000s and Mig-29s that themselves could offer a 1:1 fight to the F-16s. And if we really want to go further let's not forget the IN's MIG-29Ks that are easily on par with the blk.52 F-16s.

Naturally the IAF's assets are spread throughout India and based keeping in mind threats from both Pakistan and China but the point remains. The PAF is entirely at India's mercy and the gap is only growing.

When the Rafale arrives in India the Pakis are going to slit their wrists.

so they got 62 operational, out of that only 18 are latest capable of firing AIM 120, that is less than 20% of their fleet, rest are all old and second hand purchase, with MLU, capable of firing AIM 7 & 9.

More they fly these, more they fell from sky, as except for 18, all the rest are made in 1987 or prior.

Yes thats why we need a dedicated service sniper which fill the gap between DMR Draguov and 30 kg AMR Vidhwansak.

there have been some problems with PAF'S operational capabilities.
so the overall advantage IAF enjoys is 4:1

IAF outclasses paf in every dimension. If paf launches against india, it will be 'hara' kiri. Drop tanks not needed....it's a 1 way ticket to 72.

Yes this was contemplated during Kargil aftermath but ABV didn't order to cross LOC.
