Guys any updates ? Heard rumors that the army has captured more peaks.
Peak par Peak..
There are thousands of peaks there in between Pangang Tso and Chip Chip river valley in DBO plains. What all will one climb.
The mountain height of a ridgeline has to be relevant to perceived military importance - that is it must dominate an approach or enemy area of military relevance ... and those are well known and a few there..
Those are occupied by this or that side. Hence, now both sides will rush to unheld heights and that is what will make the Chinese three divisions dissipate. The Chinese problem is that they have two divisions there - one is a mechanized Infantry Division and the other is Motorised Division - both not well suited to hold defences on heights and tops..
So China either remains confined to places where Vehicles and BMPs can go or they mothball all their machines and then climb up the ridgelines.
That also dictates that the anti-tank defences must be well organised and orchestrated as far forward as possible .... a true case for an all-arms integrated anti-tank defensive layout with emphasis on Apaches and LCH ( if at all available anywhere).
Indian Army must take full advantage of lack of Infantry with Chinese in Ladakh. IA has solid and brave infantry battalions capable of going to the heights like Siachin. If India is able to suck in two to three divisions in Ladakh, they would have achieved their purpose.
