The anti China feeling in the US is now bi-partisan. The bill to penalize CCP officials implementing China's security laws in Hong Kong was passed unanimously in the US House which is controlled by the Democrats.

Both sides of the US political spectrum have now woken up to the real danger that China poses to the US. It is late for that realization to sink in, but better late than never.

To some extent India US security relations are now institutionalized, it does not matter who is the next US President, military cooperation is now on an independent trajectory IMO.

The ability of USA to shape events and thus set policy for the world is declining. USA is also reacting to events now. With covid19, China has proved that it has the ability to shape events.

USA no longer has choices which it had even a few years ago. The shrinking choices is going to push USA towards India.

From a geopolitical perspective from 2001 onwards it has been a total loss for the US. For 20 years the US fixated on the War on Terror and fighting wars in the Middle East. In the meantime China grew into an economic monster and vacuumed up the US industrial heartland.

Defanging China is IMO the greatest challenge facing the rest of the world and all countries will have to cooperate in making it happen. Russia is on the sidelines and cannot be counted on. That leaves the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia and hopefully most of the South East Asian countries that India can cooperate with and count on.
