GOI cannot have betrayed Israel since it did not change its position about Jerusalem ! One could say it would have betrayed Palestinians by voting against the resolution or abstaining.

Okay Israel is a friend if India. But India needs more than one friend in the world, no ? Friendly relationships with Gulf States and Iran are probably equally important. Not that the Gulf States care a lot about Palestinian rights overall, but they are sensitive about Jerusalem as a symbol. Maybe these countries won’t help directly India against Pakistan, but as long as they keep a neutral stance it is also a big win for Indian diplomacy.

East Jerusalem is the old Jerusalem city for what the crusades took place. This has been with jews, muslims and xians and now back to jews with certain parts under Muslim waqf, like the Al Aqsa is with Palestinian waqf board, where as temple mount is with jews. Other issue is the charity money.

You need to understand the conflict first. It's not territorial issue. It's about whether that 1st mecca of Muslims known as al aqsa is a mazjid or church or a synagauge including temple mount where jesus christ was born.

The tweet would have been stupid and unnecessary not matter who it was directed at; however, who it was aimed at does make it worse considering the person is a known instigator. Not sure what she was trying to achieve and don't much care as the damage has been done.
