This argument of south being burdened by rest of india is thrown around a lot but people forget that southern states rely on cheap migrant labour from UP and Bihar.

And because of low TFR in the south, the dependence will grow in the future.

So the regionalist s should first fix the low TFR and then worry about "muh hinthi imposisun".


Additionally it's the metro cities that pay the most of the taxes from the state.

Also the current efforts in UP will drastically change this equation in this decade.

And this phenomenon of lopsided tax distribution is not unique to India.
