Clearly. But again, not a source.
So don't be fooled by sensational headlines
There's no machine that doesn't break down especially if it's been in operation for about 10 years
if there is a problem, solve it.

Sometimes I feel that we should have Accepted the offer for Licence Production of Mirage 2000

BUT then That might have completely stopped the development of the TEJAS
Not really.
Just imagine the IAF now with 126 more M2000 built in India 15 years ago ?
We are in 2023 and how many Tejas are war ready ? for too few.

With the production line, It would have been possible to purchase also the intellectual rights of M2000 and M53 engine... And why not imagine a Super M2000 with canards, without moving part air intakes, an indian AESA radar....

Considering none of the Mirages are upgraded to 21st century technology (AESA, true BVR missiles, better engine, DAS etc.) buying them in 2004 made little sense. Even if India insisted on upgrades like F-16 did with block 70, French would have totally killed it on costs.

Stick with Tejas and upgrade to F414 engine. It will outclass Mirage on day 1.

It was and it is possible to put an AESA radar in the nose cone of M2000. It's only a choice (choice not made by the frecnh army because all funds put on Rafale).
MICA is a true BVR missile : a Taiwanese M2000 destroyed a target at 67km in the 90's, and MICA NG will be fully compatible with all platforme already fitted with MICA (MICA NG no escape zone is 30% greater).

M2000 is a mature product. Tejas with F414 is only a wet dream so far. So....

Maturity means jack shit. Dassault quoted a bomb to upgrade the Mirage fleet. The cost was almost equal to buying a brand new bird at that time. So IAF didn't persue it.

As I said earlier , Mirage 2000 assembly line would have stopped Tejas development

The Only Benefit would have been a Larger IAF fleet , and retiring of MiG 21 And Jaguars

Our Tejas 1A is better than the Upgraded Mirage 2000 , it only has lesser Loiter time But with Drop Tanks it can carry out BAR CAP duties

The Serial Production is about to start

MK 2 will be Ready by Aero India 2027

They should have gone ahead with it. It was the single worst decision made by various Govts and the MoD as well as the IAF. They fell for the MiG-29's performance and eventually ended up screwing themselves by letting go of that license manufacture opportunity.

Tejas was going on irrespective of the Mirage-2000. Only difference is that the IAF could've had 150 Mirages in service which would have had a totally different impact on the IAF's capabilities. Plus the MRCA tamasha would've never started in the first place then.

We lost 2 separate opportunities for the Mirage-2000. Once in the 1980s when the options with license production offer was not exercised. Second in the early 2000s when the then govt decided to go with a contest instead of going in for the Dassault offer to move the Mirage-2000 assembly line to India to build 126 of them.

Russians barged in with MiG-29. Ruining the Mirage fleet expansion plans.
They were given that opportunity by our own people. They fell for it looking at the lower upfront acquisition costs and then paid for it heavily with the very poor availability of the MiG-29 fleet during the years of the Soviet breakup. Took ages to fix the several deficiencies that the MiG-29 and it's engines had that were not fixed before selling to India.

The availability remains shit.
