Mumbai: Happy Lohri Greetings, Happy Lohri SMS and Wishes: Lohri, is a festival celebrated in North India, in and around Punjab.

It is a harvest festival which falls one day before Makar Sankranti (Kite Flying), on January 13.

As the cold winter sets in, it is believed to be good for Ravi corps; people welcome it with great enthusiasm and fervor. The Lohri is also considered as first festival of a New Year.

Celebrated in the evening, the Lohri includes bonfire, folk songs and dance. People are dressed in new shiny clothes and dance around the bonfire, also called Lohri, perfrom Bhangra and sing folk songs.

Just a day after Lohri celebration, North India observe Makar Sankranti and South India celebrate Pongal festival.
