This hydraulic system business is utterly baffling. They require way more maintenance and can be put out of action if there is a leak.. which there will be plenty of due to the shock of recoil . Hydraulic fluid can also freeze.
I don't have much faith about the second part , sirjiDon't worry boys, there will soon be a time when our forces will get deliveries of atleast 300 howitzers every year (K9, Dhanush, ATAGS, AMAGS, ULH, Mounted ULH etc).
It's said that NG-MBT project have been accelerated to meet 105mm Light Tank Requirements, but there's some chances it might be used for desi alternative to K9.
When can we see a prototype of NGMBT?Don't worry boys, there will soon be a time when our forces will get deliveries of atleast 300 howitzers every year (K9, Dhanush, ATAGS, AMAGS, ULH, Mounted ULH etc).

Can't say. But in general, you don't go in for a new Pre-RFI meet unless you scrap the old one. But depending on industrial partners, it could be arranged.Just one clarification. Is this pre rfi meeting something new or the same one of 25 ton tank for which RFI was out previously. Or this is a whole new rfi or requirements being made.
Arjun Mk. 2 as a separate tank is already canceled (AFAIK). Whatever upgrades meant to be done at Mk. 2, it will be done in Mk. 1A Chassis itself, like APS installation, NG-ERA, 1500hp engine, composite rubber tracks etc. When can we see a prototype of NGMBT?
Arjun mk2 was supposed to have a re-designed turret.Arjun Mk. 2 as a separate tank is already canceled (AFAIK). Whatever upgrades meant to be done at Mk. 2, it will be done in Mk. 1A Chassis itself, like APS installation, NG-ERA, 1500hp engine, composite rubber tracks etc.
All the MBT tech breakthroughs will be shifted to NG-MBT.
Great news if true. Is there anything ground breaking with regards to the NMBT ?.. crewless turret? Gas turbine ? 140mm + gun ?Arjun Mk. 2 as a separate tank is already canceled (AFAIK). According to Trishul blog, prototypes of mk2 were build and were doing trials.Arjun Mk. 2 as a separate tank is already canceled (AFAIK). Whatever upgrades meant to be done at Mk. 2, it will be done in Mk. 1A Chassis itself, like APS installation, NG-ERA, 1500hp engine, composite rubber tracks etc.

NG-MBT is supposed to have a crewless remote controlled turret with a 125 mm gun. Its arrangement is similar to T-14 Armata.Great news if true. Is there anything ground breaking with regards to the NMBT ?.. crewless turret? Gas turbine ? 140mm + gun ?
Bahut khushi hui bro.We already have all-terrain T90 and T72 that can take both Eastern, Northern and Western Front, but they are not future proof. Arjun was designed solely for Western Front (Desert, Plains and Swamps). Financing Arjun Mk. 2 as a separate tank with HNS Steel is not feasible anymore. Techs meant for Arjun Mk. 2 are future proof, but installing it will bring in additional weight, minimizing the gains from weight loss with HNS Steel, Composite tracks etc. Also, Arjun Chassis dimensions deprives it from full potential of HNS Steel, coz it was designed to house 4 Crews. Removing space for even 1 crew can lead to efficient designing & protection of MBT. And we already heard DRDO is actually studying to house 2 Crews inside NG-MBT instead with AI-based FCS.
However, like the evolution of Tejas Mk. 1 to Tejas Mk. 2.. NG-MBT that's said to be between 35-40 tons could be called Arjun Mk. 2 instead.
Yes, I heard that, not from Trishul tho. But Army isn't talking about Mk. 2 anymore. Could be certain reasons, but there are uncertainties too. Jyada se jyada 200-300 order denge if acquisitions are cleared. Main focus is still on NG-MBT and it's several variants with order book of more than 2000, coz it's meant to replace T-72, T-90, and pave way for SPH, ARVs etc.According to Trishul blog, prototypes of mk2 were build and were doing trials.
Gas turbine has it's downsidesBahut khushi hui bro.
Add a liquid propellant main gun and gas turbine + electric transmission and you have my dream tank.
No doubt ..If one can mitigate the issues..I specifically mean a gas turbine with electric transmission.. you don't need a crazy reduction gear system and all that sweet instant torque.. tab banega Desert Ferrari.Gas turbine has it's downsides
when factory is already made then why will it take 1 yr ??Gas turbine has it's downsides
Hydrogen Fuel Cell is the future. NG-FICV and NG-FMBT could house it from next decade. Biggest breakthrough is the silence operation. Something which soldiers always wished since WW1.Bahut khushi hui bro.
