@Adioz There is one term which I want to tell you. but its upto you if you want to incorporate in your letter or not. and how you want to incorporate
It is a phrase and in a way its applicable to our Aerospace industry

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand .

When we talk of the Aerospace industry, we are in phase of "I see and I remember" because that is what we are doing, we are just assembling the kits which are coming from Russia, The knowledge as you see is not complete as using that we are not able to make the engine as per the requirement (lower weight and higher thrust)
With all the knowledge that has been gained during the Tejas, project, we are close to the phase "I do, I remember" as this remembered and collected knowledge will not only be used to develop Tejas but will also be used to develop our aerospace industry. Presently when we have a problem which cannot be overcome, we are trying to look around if anyone wants to help us, and no one would, because anyone helping us would in a way be risking their own market share. so who would risk that? So explain it as an example, it is like being in an exam hall having studied Subject A and then when you get question paper in hand you realise that you copied the time table in wrong way and its exam of Subject C. and you are looking around for someone to help you but everyone is busy in their exam papers. No one would sympathise with us as if they help us, they might lose time for their exams. Based on what happens in real life, I am sure we would fail in that subject, but its important that we dont do the same mistake again, and we are prepared to the utmost. HAL has had few failures before, but they have learnt, and its time for the final push and their efforts will bear fruits. The biggest advantage will be self sufficiency. And importantly NATIONAL PRIDE. of being in group of few countries who design and build their own plane. We are in few groups like ones having Missile technology, and also ability to launch satellites in space. But this achievement of building our own plane, is an achievement. The result of this is that next time if and when we look for a joint ventue, we would not be looked as junior partner, but as equal partner.
Presently when countries like France Russia etc look at us, they look at us as importers of weapons, and so when we ask for JV etc, our position is not strong, because they know we dont have the experience and hence they take a stronger position, Look at PAKFA example. But when we have our own plane flying and inducted and offered for exports, these same countries would look at us as experienced or equal partners, as they know that if they refused, either we can easily find another partner or simply develop it ourselves.
This changes the mindset of the countries that look at us and boosts their respect for us based on the perception that INDIA CAN NOW MAKE MAJOR WEAPONS THEMSELVES. Fear and respect go hand in hand, we do not threaten anyone as that is not our national policy, but surely the other nations should not misunderstand our civility as our weakness as our neighbours have been doing for past many decades

Sorry but too much inferiority complex..... When gov data says that we make 75 percent component by nos in Su30mki and 58 percent by value.... Where come screw driver manufacturing. Does an aircraft 75 percent by parts contains screws only.

It is not about inferiority complex but FACTS. An important point, but where are the SCBs for the engine coming from? We cannot really manufacture our own engine, else it would not be this situation for Kaveri engine. The BARS radar is from Russia, some important avionics are from France and Israel. So whatever is in Su-30 MKI is the potential indian one. So what would that be? Tyres? Maybe the display are SAMTEL, the ejection seats are usually Matin baker 0-0 ejection seat, Even the Radome on the nose of the plane is not Indian

Do you know the situation of Kaveri, kindly go to that thread, also HAL Forges SCB at HAL Koraput, the materials are imported from russia(due to the contract if you know it ).... Al31F which Su30mki uses is a 2nd gen SCB, while HAL also produces SCB for Shakti engine, and it tot by DMRL. THEIR ARE more important things than just good sounding good words...... They are Mission computers, RWR, MAWS(under testing), integrated ew suite (probably you had heard about under development HBJ),life support system, OBOGS, full airframe, and every possible including MRF TYRES, an aircraft has which counts 75 percent.

I had read somewhere that they are working on multiple cruise missile programs simultaneously. Can anyone confirm?
