The army vice chief is basically giving the private manufactures a glimpse of the Defence market they can get their hands on if they are ready to jump into Defence Strategic partnership model under make in india..Why would a Army vice chief talk to indian private manufacturers about opportunities in defence if he is so keen on importing ..
He is saying as OFB sucks if you private guys can step in with quality products and R&D you are set to take the chunk of the pie ....
I think its the right way to go about taking the monoply from the market and give some competition unless someones ass is on fire they will not push forward and come out with their best ..
If you let the current way how OFB is running they will live happily unless you don t push them to survival stage there is nothing best going to come out from them ..Lethargic and procrastination are two words for OFB ..
Examples : Remember how F-35 was chosen out of the competition between Boeing, Lockheed and Northrop from the Joint strike Fighter program
It's Time OFB has to understand that it cannot keep biting more than it can chew ...
Its not about monpoly its about junking your product by advertising your oppenent.
If ofb is incompetent then everyone has a share in it (government, ofb, defence planners, and army).
Its not about giving support to ofb. Its about giving feedback. Our defence force don't even know that in the time of war indigenous product are far more cheaper then imported ones. They don't care about cost they don't even know that they can the front but can loose at home on economic front. No armyman will die but we can loose our nation without a fight if we continue this army policy of importing everything.
Either we can support our industrial base for once or continue junking it and do nothing and loose whole nation.
