Pinaka is already in production .. So, whats this Quality assurance for? A new variant of Pinaka ? .. a new factory? or something else ?
Most of the regiments would be done by L&T. Six of Ten.

Yeah and then people wonder how come none of the IITs has managed to secure a place among the top 300 institutes in the world.
None of the IITs or IISc have any foundry facility for batch processing of chips. However they do have some fabrication facilities for educational and research (Mtech and Phd) purposes. Even these are very rudimenary when compared to those foun d in global universities.
The only foundry which can mass produce a chip to a limited extend is the SCL, Chandigarg of ISRO. However, their only customer is ISRO and military. For those application 180 nm is sufficient. However, for consumer electronics like mobiles and laptops, people TSMC has moved on to 7 nm.
The IIT Madras project is in baby steps. It's a good start for overall capacity building in the vast area of VLSI chip design and embedded systems (software and hardware both). Hence they have 2 options:
1. Go to a global foundry for fabricating their design
2. Go to a local foundry, for proof of concept of their design ability.
They chose option 2, and designed the chip based on 180 nm node.

A specific ceramic material embedded in rubber matrix was chosen, shaped, contoured and processed on a component level through a novel encapsulation route. Ceramic manufacturing, armour panel fabrication through specific polymerization encapsulation technique, water jet cutting as well as novel coatings have been developed and established at industrial scale. The solution developed by DMRL meets all the specified requirements and has undergone evaluation trials.

Focus on indigenisation, tech dominance: OFB
Even as the government sets about to corporatise the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), the factories under the OFB have been producing modern weapons and equipment and modernising themselves.

Set up in 1775 by the British as the Board of Ordnance in Fort William, Kolkata, the OFB, among several other things, makes military trucks, artillery guns, specialised infantry combat vehicles, called the BMP, and also mine protected vehicles.

It is on the verge of starting production of the AK-203, an automatic rifle. The OFB also produces ammunition for almost all weapons of the Army.

There are 41 ordnance factories across the country under the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Some 23 of these have been set up after 1947.

Gagan Chaturvedi, Deputy Director General, Corporate Communications, OFB, says, “The ordnance factories today are vibrant and technologically dominant with the largest range of military products.”

The current level of indigenisation is over 90 per cent while in ammunition and related items it is 97 per cent. The indigenous products developed through R&D account for 25 per cent of total revenues of the ordnance factories, Chaturvedi added.

There have been export orders for ammunition and explosives. Successful indigenisation has also led to significant cost reduction. The indigenous T-90 engine is 30 per cent cheaper than the imported one.

Copied from old Wikipedia. Our overexcited jounos add nuclear in any missile. Only USSR had Nuclear SAM for Missile Defence.
Kindly re-assess.

The integration of nuclear warhead allows the missile to destroy aircraft and warheads released from ballistic missiles. It can operate in all weather conditions.
Source:

The tracked vehicles were manufactured by CVRDE. ARDE built the nuclear warhead while HEMRL produced the propellants. Launcher systems were provided by Tata Power and Larsen & Toubro.

*ARDE generally does conventional.

Could we just bask in the glory of the possibility just posted. We can iron out the fuel tech a bit later.
On the contrary, one needs to point out potential flaws in a design when the project is still in the conceptualization stage, it'll be too late after that.

Russian RS-28 Sarmat ICBM weight is 208.1 tons.

Apples to oranges!! Sarmat is being developed to serve a very specific purpose - to act as a launching platform for Avangard HGVs and of course, you would need such a massive behemoth if that's your intension. But I don't think we're aiming for the same thing here, are we now??

Who knows what are the intentions of our defence planners?
