DFI will go into read only mode at 0000h in the intervening night of 9th and 10th July with some of the sections on defence visible. This is for the members who have patronised DFI for over 15 years and also allow all those posts to be accessible to defence enthusiasts - and for all those wanting to scrape

This mode will be in place for the foreseeable future, and subject to the call of the forum owner @Singh at a future date.

Once again, thanks to all the members and moderators who kept the forum going for over 15 years.

Frankly I don't quite understand what's the gameplan of the management here . If the idea was to continue with the forum which in some ways is exactly how things are panning out with the management planning to keep "some " sections open , what was the need to shut down a live & successful forum ?

If the idea was to purge the forum of problematic threads , that was accomplished by Lurker Baba in a jiffy playing Jaldi 5 & Jaldi 10 when he deleted numerous sections before Haldilal here could bat his eyelids. That the latter's been batting his eyelids in disbelief non stop ever since is a different matter.

In any case , I've always held this truism to be paramount , lest one forgot about it only to be rudely reminded later & so must the rest of the members reading this - your forum , your rules . As applicable to DFI as to DFB or any other forum for that matter.
