Its plain stupid to bar Finmeccanica. Just bar AgustaWasteland if you need to.

We need the Otobreda naval guns more than anything else!

Baring companies in itself is idiotic enough. Just make anti-graft clauses stronger with heavy financial penalties, IMHO.

Israel Aircraft Industries To Unveil Unmanned Fast Patrol Boat At New Delhi Defense Expo​

Israeli Aerospace Industries Ltd, or IAI, will be present with an important new naval concept which seeks to replicate the use of UASs, unmanned aerial systems, and sometimes known as "drones", in a maritime context.

IAI will be unveiling their new concept for the "Katana" unmanned ship, which is designed to protect critical marine infrastructures, such as oil and gas rigs, gas terminals, undersea pipelines, perhaps even LNG carriers and of course the approaches to ports.

To do so the Katana will be equipped with the latest in automated navigations and fast propulsion systems and its own specialized arrays of weaponry.

HAL to showcase fighters, trainers at Defexpo in Feb | Business Line

BANGALORE, FEB 5:
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) plans to showcase models of its products at the forthcoming Defexpo at New Delhi from February 6 to 9.

The underlying theme of HAL's exhibits will be technological excellence under its business verticals of fighters, trainers, transport aircraft, helicopters, engines, systems and avionics, besides projecting the company's futuristic programmes.

The company is displaying the ALH, LCH, IJT, Do-228, Su-30, Hawk, MTA, Chetak, LUH, LCA, HTT-40, Lakshya and PSLV and GSLV spread over an area of 330 sq metres at Central Hall Lake (Pragati Maidan).

NEW DELHI, February 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian air defense concern Almaz-Antey has demonstrated an advanced short-range air defense system Tor-M2E at the international arms show DEFEXPO 2014 in India. This Russian air defense system, created at the Izhevsk-based electro-mechanical plant Kupol of Almaz-Antey concern, participates in an Indian tender for delivery of 52 short-range air defense systems.

India bids for delivery of short-range air defense systems in a planned tender, Deputy Director General for military-technical cooperation in air defense concern Almaz-Antey Viktor Boyarkin told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. Russia's main arms exporter Rosoboronexport decided to put two Russian weapon systems up for a tender — air defense system Tor-M2E developed by Almaz-Antey and air defense missile gun system Pantsir-S1 developed by the instrument-making design bureau of High Precision Systems holding.

In the tender India plans to buy air defense systems to form two regiments — a total of 52 air defense systems.

Kupol has already adapted autonomous combat module of short-range air defense system Tor-M2KM, putting it on wheeled chassis produced by the Indian Tata Motors. Russian air defense system Tor-M2E is showed on the wheeled chassis made by the same company at the international arms show DEFEXPO 2014.

Air defense system Tor-M2E is designed for air defense of the most important state and military facilities and their protection from any strikes of cruise, anti-radar and other guided missiles, warplanes, helicopters, unmanned drones, guided and flying bombs at any time of the day, in any weather and in a hard jamming situation.

High Precision Systems would do well to tie up with an Indian do to set up a missile line for the Pantsir S1 and mount it on an Indian truck. They would sure shot be selected as replacement for the ageing Pechora systems.

They also need to market it better in India, may be even mount it on a T-72 chassis and market it as QRSHORAD and C-RAM for point defence, armored regiments, artillery regiments (wheeled MGS and tracked SPGH, not towed).

Not to mention they also need to market it as a component of subsonic cruise missile defence system.
