The Turtuk sector where he had lay down his life after battling highly equipped intruders, had been later renamed as Hanifuddin sector as a sign of respect to his valor.

These men gave up their life in the prime of their youth for our freedom and honour.

Their family members must be asked to hoist the national flag on independence day and republic day functions instead of civil servants. And make a speech about their sacrifice and valour.
It will be a breath of fresh air for the young minds of our school children.
No one sacrificed more for the flag.

The Gocernment of INDIA should add some of their pictures, sacrifice and valour in History text books in every class and in every state sylabus. We are reading about our pre independant and post independant history. Why not about these men who have made the supreme sacrifice be remembered in much better way.

Don't they deserve this Honour?

IF NOT WHO ELSE?

This pic is clicked in Brighton,1915. In those days soldiers who were illiterate asked their fellow men to draft their feelings for them.
The pic of an Indian soldier dictating a letter during the WW1.

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month each and every year should be dedicated in memory of these brave sons of India. The whole nation should observe a minute's silence in memory of those who gave our nation the most precious gift a human being is capable of giving - his or her life.Jai Jawan.Jai Hind.

Late, Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Rathee..

For the first time in internet , picture of Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Rathee, martyr of 1962 Sino - Indian war is now available. This is the last picture of Brigadier Rathee alive and has been shared for the first time on internet. It feels amazing. Just got this picture from Navin Rathee, Brigadier Rathee's kin. Brigadier Rathee - the man who refused to give and fought till last man, last bullet. Respect !

Jai Hind..

CAPTAIN HANEEF UDDIN, 24, VrC (P)

11 Rajputana Rifles
Singer Soldier
Mission: Attacked by intruders and bombarded by artillery, he and his unit, equipped only with small arms, fought to the end.

On 06 June 1999, a company was deployed in "Operation Thunderbolt" to occupy a position, occupation of which would have facilitated better observation spectrum of enemy movement and dispositions in the area. Captain Haneef Uddin volunteered to lead the special mission patrol consisting of one junior commissioned officer and three other ranks. The party made valiant endeavours to occupy the position on the night of 4"' and 5th June 1999. On 06 June 1999 the party tried approaching the position from an adjacent position occupied the previous night by Captain Haneef Uddin at height of 18,500 feet. Advancing in sub-zero temperature along the razor sharp edge from the southwesterly direction, the party came as close as 200 metres of the position when it was fired upon. Captain Haneef Uddin and two other ranks received the brunt of fire.

Inspite of the grave injury, Captain Haneef Uddin, without caring for his personal safety, took position and started firing to pin down the enemy and to extricate his team members. In the ensuing firing from both sides, Captain Haneef Uddin was further hit by enemy artillery and small arms fire. However, he kept on engaging the enemy till his men could reach a safe location. Captain Haneef Uddin however, succumbed to his injuries. Captain Haneef Uddin displayed bravery and concern for his team of the highest order and with utter disregard to his own safety made the supreme sacrifice.

Captain Haneef uddin was awarded Veer Chakra posthumously for the courage and valour he displayed while on duty.

Jai Hind

REST IN PEACE
I was watching TV in those days, and the fighting was so intense that the body of Haniffudin couldn't be retrieved for days.

The kargil war was notable for the high number of young officers sacrificing their life for the country in their prime.
So many young men same as my age group valiantly volunteering for the riskiest missions leading their men from the front.
Men like Vikram Batra ,who said yeh dil manga hai more,

Showing the mettle of the young officer cadre that led the indian army.

Acts like this give real meaning to the word supreme sacrifice.

Contrast this with the slimy attitude of PAK military establishment which even refused to accept the body of their dead soldiers.
What did they achieve by this supreme perfidy?

A war with no aim and initiated with no hope of winning ,by slimy creatures like MUSHARAF, who is now safely cocooned in LONDON safely in the wood works.

Is it worthy of these slimy creature masquerading as a great leader of a nation ,now hiding in the wood work safely in London like a cockroach to have taken so many young lives on both sides of the border for no rhyme or reason?

Assistant commandants Ngashepam Manoranjan Singh and Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia were among six CoBRA personnel who went down all guns blazing in an encounter that left several Maoists dead in Chhattisgarh almost three years ago.

But the valour of the first martyrs belonging to the elite force established to target red rebels remains unsung to date.

The six were killed in Dantewada on September 17, 2009, in what was officially described as the first major successful CoBRA offensive against Maoists.
